  1. Please don't encourage your 4chan-esque incel terminology to infect this place as well
  2. I agree about O'Dowda - although I'll say his recent performances have made me reconsider when we need to improve on him... but not if (that's still a yes for me). If we think about Pearson mentioning where we'll be in 2-3 years, then I'd be disappointed if he was in that squad which (we hope) will be challenging at the right and of the table. However, previously I saw it as a position we needed to improve in the summer, as I wouldn't have been happy if we went into next season with him first choice for a position on the pitch. After this last month or so though I'm thinking if we held onto him for another year, and concentrated elsewhere it maybe wouldn't be a disaster. He's a pretty steady Championship player at this point, for us at least. The fact he's been here for 5 years, played 30+ games for us in most of them, and people still are on the whole indifferent towards him is pretty telling though for me.
  3. To be fair at our last home game I saw Dasilva warming up in front of the Lansdown stop and take a crowded photo with a bunch of young kids. Alex Scott also took his shirt off after the game and went up to someone in the crowd and gave it to them. What a weird thing to get in a bother about.
  4. I was 8 - the floodlights going out is one of my earliest strong memories of watching City, and unrelated to the match itself!
  5. Bit of both I think, he was definitely on his own there as you said. Have a look from this angle:
  6. Well at least we wont play a team with this quality of squad again for quite a while
  7. Interesting way for Palmer to try and win his place back from Scott Not quite sure that's what Pearson had in mind
  8. It just goes to show that Kalas really doesn't want it doesn't it - he'd have been the obvious choice today from the start, and as Martin goes off. Would be interested in whether it's because of having it the last year (or two?), and whether he ever wanted it.
  9. I noticed the beginnings of some nice little planned movements between O'Dowda, Semenyo, and Pring yesterday, so although O'Dowda didn't have the best game I'd stick with all three. First half in particular it was noticeable a couple of times as Pring advanced, O'Dowda would run infield dragging his man while Semenyo ran out into the space for the easy ball, then looked to play it back in. Simple planned moves but we haven't been seeing it so much this last 18 months, and it'll improve with time. They actually looked like they had a plan to advance and knew what each other would be doing.
  10. Two 18 year olds and a 19 year old in the starting lineup. You love to see it!
  11. Do you think the change in focus was due to the keeper though, the team he had in front of him, or the instructions he was given as a result? Bit of them all? I know it's going to sound down on Max, which I don't want to be as I like him, but one game with a very different looking team is a bit of a poor sample to draw comparative differences in my opinion. I agree with your other post about the style (Bentley retreating) though. I wonder if the change in keeper partly drove the change in team, or visa versa. Coincidence maybe? Would be good to see Max with Martin up front (or Bentley with that team) and see what happens. I seem to remember when I first saw Bentley thinking how good and quick his distribution was - might have just been in compassion to his predecessor though. Have to admit my impression of his distribution was a bit worse than those graphics so thanks for posting them!
  12. Wow, this must be some kind of record for number of teams played for? Even though he barely made any appearances:
  13. Not sure about the distribution so far personally - it worried me a fair bit especially in the second half. We had a few ballooned up high nowhere near anyone, and a scuffed low one we were lucky one of our defenders managed to flick on. In the first half I thought there were a few nervy moments we just got away with playing it back and forth at the back under a bit of pressure. Thought he did well overall though, and came and punched a few I doubt Bentley would have which was nice.
  14. Agree about Weimann. I rate him but I've noticed quite a few times this season he seems to be losing his head, far more than he was in the past. There was one point second half where he was flat on the ground just lying there incredulously while the game went on around him. Get up and play! Same thing with constantly following the ref around and shouting at him - I understand there's a degree of gamesmanship but he's taking it too far currently in my opinion, and just looks out of control.
  15. They're not really - it's sorted by ppg, not total points. To avoid this thread getting totally derailed I won't name who, but one team are only 12 points behind... (unless you meant in the PL only!)
  16. From that twitter thread linked: Average 1st team wage is 16k? Can that really be true?! I know average isn't always the best measure as it can be heavily skewed, but as far as I know we don't have any 40k+'ers who would do that. Looking at that squad, and who there has some value that's unbelievable.
  17. Yep, he played right back against both Man Utd and Man City I'm pretty sure. Right of a back three against Arsenal now 3 years later - not too bad!
  18. @Robbored thinking they've actually got off rather lightly compared to his ordeal
  19. City second (Weimann): https://streamja.com/N39Wa
