When you want Keith Stroud to make it all about him and award a penalty!!!!

Mehmeti on Sykes off - think Sykes tweaked something a few minutes ago
-
No shots at all in the second half
-
We've started turning backwards when getting the ball rather than forwards as we were doing in the first half
-
Just gotta keep playing like we did in the first half and take a chance or two!!
-
TGH should have taken the free kick - even though it was on the right.
Poor from Naismith

If this style of play is the way we are going to play in the future then the football is much more entertaining!!
Ohhh Tommy what a chance

Not a bad start. We can definitely hit these on the break
Pretty even- despite what the reporter on Sky Sports said in his first update - "Southampton on top as you would expect!!" really!!!

Freeview Channel 719 - Radio Bristol commentary.
Sometimes it's on 722 - but always away games.
Living down here it's great!!!

The amount of decisions going against them this season is farcical.
Very similar to the number of penalty shouts we had (until Saturday) that went against us - the standard of refereeing across the leagues is just shocking - with or without VAR

Perhaps it's all to do with the chance of seeing a penalty - clearly we are no more likely to appear on TV as we are to get another spot kick this season!!

TBF, the trumpeter had finished several seconds earlier. I was wondering why the referee hadn’t blown his whistle as I thought he would at the end.
Downsie had said there would be a period of silence "after the "Bugler" had finished" so there was no excuse to get it wrong.
It was a shame the guy playing the "trumpet" didn't risk playing a Bugle (which is much harder to play well) but is the correct instrument to use for Remembrance events
My guess is the well-behaved Wednesday fans (the vast majority) would have given appropriate grief to those who shouted out!

Talking of Sliding Doors moments - the one no one has mentioned was at Wembley in 2008 in the Play Off final.
I have been there all through the managers since Alan Dicks - but the chances we had to win that game (always falling to the right foot of a very left footed players) are too numerous to mention - we should have won that game by two or three clear goals, and no one would have said we didn't deserve it!
I've never felt so gutted as on that fateful day!!

The one thing that perhaps Robins has over Pearson is the ability to manage his superiors - it's all well and good to have a great relationship with your piers and team - but if you can't manage upwards you will never remain in situ for any length of time.
Whoever comes in - whilst they don't need to be a 'yes man' must know how to communicate any differences professionally and not wash their dirty washing in public when it is likely to anger those above.
No doubt a difficult person to find - but hopefully someone is out there that fits!!

I'd definitely take Robins - of those being suggested on the other thread he would beat them all!
But as said with such a long contract can't really see it happening any time soon.

Just can't afford to give the ball away that easily.
Poor!

The rugby tackle on Dickie was more clear cut than the one on Bell!!
Both clear pens!

How long is Conway's contract- whatever it is make it longer!!

Just to mention a PA system closer to home that is superb …
I went to the County Ground (Glos cricket) in Bristol on Tuesday to watch England v Ireland - until the rain came - and my goodness, how good was their system - so clear and loud!
So there are some good systems out there!

As above, I'll raise it at the next applicable meeting
I'm sure this will be the reply sadly
Thanks

I don't arrive until the teams are entering the field, but I'm confused as you are saying that he's too loud, but I got the impression others are saying they can't hear him?
Having started this thread - it seems the overwhelming opinion is that the pa system is just not fit for purpose - whether or not Downsey is the one to do the job is a different issue!
Can someone take this forward to the club and get it sorted once and for all - it’s been going on far too long!

Isn't football simple!!???
Goals win games
And sadly we just don't score enough goals - get that sorted and perhaps we can win these sort of games!
