  1. Just watched the post match comments having recorded the game on Sky last night and all the pundits agree that Sharp was offside.

Even the Sheff Utd women player - they all agreed it should have been disallowed.

They also agreed that Norwood should have been sent off!

VAR would have provided the correct decision for both of these!

Poor ref’s are costing us and it’s about time this was resolved!

  2. In my experience the club has an ongoing problem of swearing - especially many of our away fans I have had the unfortunate pleasure of ending up sitting/standing near at away games.

There is swearing and there is swearing - some words are often spoken and generally accepted as “ok” swear words, whereas others ‘the C word’ for example are absolutely not ok!

When I was growing up I can remember being told that someone who swears only uses those words as they don’t have the correct vocabulary to use more appropriate words which don’t risk offending others.

The club encourages families and children to attend and they should be allowed to sit, or stand where they choose and expect not to be hounded or exposed to unnecessary foul language.

Use the clubs “hotline” and continue to complain where necessary.

My final comment to those who choose to swear, especially in a more horrible way, is to ask yourselves “would you use your chosen words in front of your own children or parents?  As I bet the majority wouldn’t!

  3. I’m afraid until football sorts out ‘safe standing’ and then insists if you buy a ticket for a standing area you stand, and if you buy a ticket for a seat - you sit - this situation will never be resolved.

I went to Coventry last season (when we had our last penalty) and everyone pretty much stood, which as someone who prefers to sit really annoys me!  I get that closer to the front you are more likely to be able to sit - but why should those who want to sit have to go to the front where the view is clearly worse than half way back?  Everyone pays the same price!

As for the behaviour of some of our ‘so called fans’ their behaviour is often abhorrent- I’m sure most of these ‘fans’ wouldn’t behave like it in front of their girlfriends or mothers so why behave like it at football matches.

I wish it were possible for clubs to sell home and away tickets for seats and standing - the fans know where they are and the stewards can marshall accordingly!

Having said all of this - fans ‘choose’ how to behave and sadly many just don’t know how!

  4. Having just watched the You Tube highlights what strikes me about the commentary and not Carey’s comments is that the commentator is so behind with his reaction to a goal!  There’s little emotion and excitement!  Is he like Downsey - another rugby fan working in football?

  5. I heard an interview with Simon Jordan a month or so ago when the topic being discussed was the price of food and drink inside and outside football grounds - together with the impact of late arrivers to a game because they were downing their last pint etc.

Apparently when he was at Palace he made the point that all drink and food inside the ground was cheaper than anything around the ground.

It had the effect of getting fans in earlier, which saved the last minute rush through the turnstiles at the same time making the club an extra few bob by increased sales - and most importantly, the fans weren’t paying extortionate prices.

Perhaps more clubs, including City, should take this view!

  6. Just been onto Sky Sports Football (403) to see if you can record Red Button games as you used to - and hey presto it looks like you can!

I clicked to record the main game and had the option to choose City v Coventry.

That game now shows in my “scheduled” list!

    Fingers crossed it works!

    Eh..?

    Not sure what you mean..?

Either way, the photos pretty clearly show the ball is raised above the line of the penalty box & clearly not fully over it.

The photo on Twitter clearly shows the ball in the air - and don’t forget that a small part of the ball needs to be over a small part of line to deem that it is in the penalty area and the keeper is fine when picking it up.

With the human eye it is near impossible to prove this was not the case therefore the ref would have to give the keeper the benefit of the doubt.

What was much more clear was the offside for their second goal - I was pretty much on line with the City defensive line and their player looked a yard offside - the issue was that the linesman was way behind the pace of play and was totally in the wrong position to flag.

  8. When Southgate has a multitude of players from which to choose - why select a player (Saka) and play him out of position. Either play him in his correct position or don’t play him at all!

The team should be made up of the best players in each position - not just eleven players and then put them in eleven positions - it just doesn’t work!

    Its been sooooo boring!!
