xerox6060
Good player who has done a good job for us, but I don't think he's the future, so a good move for all concerned in my opinion.

mindjuicer
What that we have managed to offload our 4th choice central midfielder creating funds for incoming players? Yeh delighted Your 4th choice. Last I checked he was in the rotation which made him equal 3rd (or 2nd excluding Sno)... which just underlines the case for him being let go on compassionate grounds. !james
all the best for the future Lee, didnt want to it to happen like this as it feels like he has been forced out - great servant to the club

ciderup
Maybe Clough will be shown the door with GJ taking over!! I can't say the thought hadn't crossed my mind. Best of luck to LJ, it's good for everyone IMHO. Incoming perhaps?

Admin Ian M Posted January 1, 2010 Admin Report Share Posted January 1, 2010 Hartley, Skuse, Sno and even Williams i would put infront of LJ. Are you saying letting go of LJ was a bad choice? Is he our best midfielder? No and no for me. He will be back anyway hes only started 2 league games when hes not playing for Daddy. Did you deliberately put that in to engage in a bit of fishing? You are wrong
iWurzel
Hardly surprising. I expect him and Gary are fed up of the father/son argument cropping up every time he pulls on a shirt. Shame to lose a decent squad player as I imagine this is the beginning of the end for LJ at the club. Will be interesting to see who the next scapegoat is! Lordofthebling
Too many players ahead of him, he gets so much stick when he plays - feel its best for all parties...
EmersonsKev
Could it be a make way for a deal for Kris Commons. Major punt but didn't see a LJ loan deal coming either.
Admin Ian M Posted January 1, 2010 Admin Report Share Posted January 1, 2010 "We had four or five clubs enquire about Lee" who? Not sure about this window but in previous windows Steve Coppell, Billy Davies & the unmentionable one have asked about his availability. Hardly surprising. I expect him and Gary are fed up of the father/son argument cropping up every time he pulls on a shirt. Shame to lose a decent squad player as I imagine this is the beginning of the end for LJ at the club. Will be interesting to see who the next scapegoat is! You can't have been on-line in a while. It's Gary & Keith now.
cheese
Just goes to show what a load of old tripe some people write on here. They said he would never be dropped, he was, they said he would never play for another championship club, he will with 4/5 other clubs enquiring. You know who you are, can you now just shut up until you have something sensible and contructive to say.

It has already started, when people saw LJ performing reasonable well it would be Jamie McCombe this or Ivan Sproule that. Alot of City fans have to find someone to be the scapegoat opposed to accepting we were beaten by a better side.
Lack of Action Man
At least now fans won't be causing civil war with eachother for ever and ever over the sake of one player. I'm suprised that this move has gone through but pleased nonetheless.

cidercity1987
RIP Lee Johnson threads I think this one could rumble on and on mind! Great move for all parties and interesting that our 'rejects' (in the nicest possible way) are now going to a club like Derby as opposed to Cheltenham and Wycombe. City_pete1
congratulations to Lee, a good move for him (playing in front of an average attendance of 30,000 could be seen as a nice step up for him).

bringbacktherobin
He is a good player, but i still feel that mangers shouldnt buy their sons. It doesnt matter if it he pele, he would still get the "your only in the side because of your dad" remarks.
Lack of Action Man
Show's what you know then. To quote Nigel Clough: ""Lee is a very good footballer, who knows the game inside out, is experienced at this level, versatile and works extremely hard for the team; these are the qualities we are looking for." official site. There's no question he works hard but the very good footballer bit is debatable. Not that I'm starting that debate again...
CiderHider
Just turned up on the OS. Interesting comments from Clough, he clearly rates the little lad. Aye, sums him up well. I somhow think this is not a footballing decision made by GJ and the coaches, I reckon LJ probably pushed for it. :noexpression:
