Is it a right laugh or as unconfortable as a wet muddy ditch?????? often wondered! not used them for a very long time (16 years at least) just a long coach journey, if you were lucky enough to get on the no1 or no2 you'd get some tele now and then on the long journeys, there was the odd sing song after a good win, But just your standard coach journey, Please correct me if its changed

Robbored
Like all coach trips its often tedious with over long breaks at expensive motorway services, otherwise its fine. Avoid coaches 1 and 2. These are the die-hards who travel via CATS to virtually every away game and it seems like very few of them have showers at home. WellRedPhil
Just a standard coach journey tbh, the only signing usually comes from a few 14 year olds at the back and is a bit cringey. It's clearly not as pleasant as a car or train journey but it does it's job and as long as you're with a few mates it's not too bad. Contrary to what RR said I'd actually recommend coaches one and two, there's some odd folk but they make for an interesting ride.

RR is right having been given the last 2 tickets on Coach 1 on a couple of trips you are looked upon as an outsider. We were amongst the first on the coach and had to move seat twice because, "We were sat in ...'s seat". Seriously. The coffee and tea as offered around but not to us, and we were generally not included in anything going on. Wasn't particularly bothered but just thought it was incredibly rude. So I carried on listening to loud death metal on my ipod and watching porn on the laptop! (not really this is a joke...)

NiceRed
Not been on them for a good 10-15 years. I remember often stopping for 30 mins at a service station 30 minutes from the destination, which was annoying. Though I'm guessing more to do with driver regulations and not CATS' fault. When the coaches arrived, lots of people would just go straight to the away turnstiles and wait outside them until they opened. Admittedly, there's not a lot to do in Burnley/Wrexham/Stockport and the like, but very strange I used to think.
Barrs Court Red
Used the about 3 times about 15 years ago. Odd people then, probably are now. The story about having to move seats sums it up nicely

Coventry is fairly close and not much more than two hours by car. By CATS it'll be at least 3 hours due to the stop at the services on the way up. This way I get to sit there whilst someone else drives me. Ipod on and relax.

Coach 1 is always like that, I recall my other half went to Plymouth a few years ago (game we won 2-0) and exactly the same, passing sweets around but not to her or any other strangers. They think they are some sort of elitist bunch with their heads so far up there backsides it's unreal.

BS15_RED
Went with cats to West Ham a few weeks back, a long boring trip, we didn't leave the Gate until 3pm and got to Upton Park at twenty five to eight, no time to have a look round, straight into the ground. Won't use it again, unless I've absolutely no alternative.
Enoch Showunmi
Went to Millwall a couple of seasons back, when we could have got promoted. ciderup
That wasn't the famous Turbo I've heard so much about was it? Mine was, 'Turbo, the fastest and best coach driver in Bristol'. I'm sure he's fine in Bristol but he didn't have a clue once he got to London!
ralphindevon
I can remember using them a few times in the early 80's. They used to use the oldest beaten up buses they could find. Once coming back from Swindon the headlights wouldn't work and the police let us carry on as long as we had another coach close behind and in front for the whole journey which worked until we got into Bristol where we lost our escort and drove across the city without lights. Another occasion coming back from Notts County, smoke started to come up through the floor of the middle of the coach. We pulled over on to the hard shoulder to see flames underneath, a few fans got back on and pissed on it to put it out, to no avail. We had to wait ages for another coach. Happy days but never again. David Brent
I've used it about 3 times. Not really a fan of travel, game, travel but its good for longer journeys when other methods are expensive or unavailable. I prefer to make more of my day. I've always felt out of place when i've used it. Not necessarily intentional but the majority of users are frequent users I think.
Superjack
I remember going to Leyton Orient away on CATS in Joe Jordan's first spell (might have been the 89/90 promotion season) and the driver got lost so we didn't get there until half-time. At one point he spotted a load of supporters in red and white down a side street, so stopped the coach. The first few to get off soon turned around. It was White Hart Lane and Man United were playing away. Before that we had used CATS for the Bradford and Forest trips in the 89 League Cup run, but I have never used it since.
