Obscure City Players

My God reading about Jason Fowler, retired ages ago, left us even longer than that ago, calls us Bristol and said we had a lot of egos going on! How long has this Ego thing been going on in this club?

Taken from- http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/t/torquay_united/4211787.stm

This ego thing?

About as long as Carey's been at the club...

(Joking everyone, calm down.) ;-)

Kevin Langan

Sorry for bumping an inactive thread but since he has a couple of appearances on the board I figured I'd share a little info on Langan. He's quite the successful coach at the collegiate level here in the states, coaching the Charlotte 49ers mens team. Bio here: http://www.charlotte49ers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=204861304

As you're possibly (probably?) aware, "soccer" is not the principle sport in the US and as such, players take a different route to the pros. Whereas elsewhere youth academies are the norm, here a player would attend a 4 year university as a launching pad to our top flight of football, Major League Soccer (or elsewhere). The better you are, the shorter the stint. Anyway, the Charlotte 49ers Mens' team for the last decade or so have been perennial contenders to win the national championship and Langan has carried on that tradition.

So, there you go.
