glynriley
As you say, A BIT, yes. The situation was not beyond repair though, far from it. Will you be saying the same at the end of the season if SC takes us down? Will I be saying that SOD only collected 8 points from a possible 30? Yes, because it's true. If we go down and SC has collected an average of less than1 point per home game, he will be as culpable.
Garland-sweden
Think we will avoid relegation and that Cotteril will be City manager for a longer period. Next season could be real good.
Aizoon
Whatever we do, it will probably be our worst finishing position in the league for 30 years. Almost certainly. It's about: 1. Staying up 2. Building for the long term so we do better in years to come Hopefully, the two aren't incompatible.
Rich_s
At least SC team is showing fight to get back into games unlike SOD's team Didn't see much fight during MK Dons second yesterday. Probably the most shambolic defending I've seen all season.

italian dave
True.We also had one point from his first 27 available away from home...Two actually (Blackpool and Hull). Quoting stats about SODs that are 50% of the truth seems to something of a habit on here! And looking at our upcoming away fixtures, we'll do well to do very much better that that in SCs first 9 away games. I genuinely hope that we do.But that's not really the point. I'm not trying to defend that as a good record - of course its not. I just object to this constant black and white view of everything person a does is great being justified by villyfying person b.SOD had probably the most difficult job of any new manager in the past 50 years (except arguably TC) and he was a decent man who deserved a lot more support than he got from some, and who made a good start on the huge job that needed (and still needs) doing. He made lots of mistakes and there are individual decisiosn I disagreed with. But he was right when he said it would take 2 or more years, and for me he made as good a start as anyone could and SC is carrying on where he left off.I don't "worship" SOD as some of the silly comments suggest. I supported him. And I support SC. There are things he does better than SOD - interviewing being the most obvious! And I'd imagine SC is more upbeat around the place! There will be things he does worse - too early to judge but I'm wondering if he'll be as good a coach. We'll see. There have only been two City managers I've not supported - Pulis and Osman were both in it for themselves, and what they wanted was more about themselves than about Bristol City. Every other manager has had my support because I want them and BCFC to succeed - and that incudes BOTH SOD and SC. It doesn't have to be one or the other. Andy082005
I think we would have/will stay/ed up with either in charge myself but the main thing was SOD was a negative character whereas SC is much more upbeat. Other than that I haven't seen massive differences. As someone said, we drew 2-2 at MK Dons earlier on in the season and there wasn't that much difference in performance (ie both games were fairly close and teams fairly matched-ish). ...and here lied one of the major problems and why he failed massively here Everything about this club was negative when SOD joined....the last thing it needed was more negativity, and thats what he bought. Never underestimate the power of positivity.... Cotterill for me, absolutely brilliant people person, didnt realise how good a people person he was. Whether or not he will be the long term answer I dont know...but he is breeding a real positive feel and seems to be really getting the players AND the fans back on side with the things he is saying. Which makes you wonder why on earth SOD was appointed then as it was no secret as to the kind of character he was.

Ive not read or heard anything about the Q and A....but like you said, does make me wonder. Im sure Odriscoll is a good manager, but his style was not what was needed at the time. John Galley
Don't be pedantic I wasn't talking specifically about the orient game. People rave about that game like it was some kind of holy grail if footballing nirvana. We didn't even win the ******* game. I defy anyone to say the quality of football has declined under SC Agree 100% It's a pleasure to watch a game where we actually have shots on target, although we might not be taking the chances at the moment, that will come. Watching the games dished up under SOD was slow and boring, proven by the fact that season ticket holders around me weren't even bothering to attend. Aizoon
we have lost less games than peterborough in 7th, who are only outside the POs on GD we are drawing our way to league 2 Fair point. On the old system of 2 for a win, we'd be mid-table. The curious thing is that draw specialists usually have lots of 0-0's. Have we had one yet?
