World Cup Tv Panels

May as well chuck in my complaints.

What the **** are TalkSPORT thinking leaving the reigns between 10-1 to Colin Murray?

His show, appropriately named 'Colin Murray and Friends' reminds me of my own childhood days, football in the park, putting the ball in dog shit an getting your mate to head it, laughing histerically etc.

Must be Under 10's hour.

ITV's approach typifies the channel and the culture of the people who regularly view it, wholly undescerning.

This is not a bad shout. A panel comprising the core from the Football Weekly podcast, headed by James Richardson, would be preferable to either mob served up by BBC or ITV.

Without a doubt! people like Richardson, the disgustingly underused Tim Vickery and some of the top football journalists, there's a French guy that sometimes gets airtime Phillioe Auclaire and guillem balague if you want some international flavour. Know infinitely more about world football than any World Cup winner.

One things for certain, being a great player doesn't make you a good pundit.

Child's is a presenter not a pundit so his football knowledge is irrelevant, however his delivery which is quite deadpan does irritate some people.

To be honest I don't mind him at all he's hardly offensive, the biggest culprit is the ITV main commentator, now he really does grate.

If I had a choice I would probably swap chiles for the criminaly underused and underrated Jim Rosenthal.

There may be a reason why he's not used much in Brazil. I know a killer anecdote about Rosie in Brazil. Libel laws prevent me from repeating it, but it involves a lady and some rope....

Still had a fantastic career. Canavaro may have lifted a World Cup but he offered little in the way of insight, he can barely speak English and kept giggling. I'd much rather a panel of journalists than ex pros any day!

Funnily enough I think the exact opposite, I'd rather listen to world cup winners, people who have played the game than people who have never kicked a ball in their life, look at Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville, Imo the best pundits around, they played over 1300 games between them, take that compared to Darren Gough and Adrian Durham, ones a cricket player, the other a pathetic WUM.

The final straw for me with Adrian Chiles when he called Cannarvaro good looking.. Could of turned off the screen at that moment

Yeah I'm not advocating talkSPORT drivetime as a replacement !! Totally agree on that front.

JC and GN are give great insight into football from a players point if view, but their knowledge of the game as a whole is infinitely inferior so some of those experts mentioned earlier.

Honest question if you asked Neville and Co who the mangers for Bristol City and Bristol Rivers were, would they know?

Maybe a nice balance between player and expert would be good change.

Sounds like a porn star.

Thats a poor arguement.

A better question would be "Would you forgo any BBC services" which would be yes, as I only use them once every two years for international football!

Im sure some people find the BBC valuable I don't and don't see why in 2014 I have to pay for something I don't want.

So you don't listen to any BBC radio stations either then.

The Football weekly podcast is the best Football programme ( if you know what I mean!) available to any of us.

It's sheer brilliance,James Richardson's is a top man.

Football Weekly is good, but it's no Football Ramble. By far the best football podcast out there

I seem to be in a massive minority, but I find Chiles quite entertaining! He is I agree a bit like a supply teacher, and you never quite know what the hell he will talk about, but he injects a certain humour and passion.

The BBC is solid, slick and professional and ITV have never been able to match BBC by trying to match their style. I admire them to an extent for using a different approach.

Love him or loath him, he seems to make an impression!

I like him too to be honest. It's much more informal on ITV.

I thought the BBC panel were dismal and a real contrast to the excellent Gabby Logan and Phil Neville. Never been overly impressed with Lineker.   Gary Neville, Tim Vickery and James Richardson as a panel would be much better than the current bunch.

Seedorf is on for the game right now and he is excellent, great voice excellent english and obviously smart with it. Juninho looked like someone had woken him up when Lineker asked him a question and his english is poor considering how long he lived here.

On another note, I got one of those large betting sheets from the bookies to put a few quid on for added interest, I couldn't find the odds for "how many goals will ITV manage to replace with adverts or screen blackouts this tournament". Maybe it's because the odds would be too short?
