Lost Brand Names

Got me thinking. Now that the Dolman Blocks have been renamed and the East end isn't/never was in the East anyway, what other brand names have been dumped in the bin of corporate bollocks?

Things I can recall that are (sadly?) no longer with us are

Jif = Cif

Opal Fruits = Starburst

Marathon = Snickers

League minnows Bristol Rovers = Non League Minnows Bristol Rovers

Autumn Gold = nothing I think, didn't it just disappear!?

Any more?

BT Cellnet = O2 (Soon to be 3)

Wessex Trains = First Great Western

JJB Sports = Sports Direct?

Jesus - another one I missed out on! When does O2 become 3? Everyone I know with 3 moans about coverage, presumably O2 will bring their coverage to 3, and not the other way round?

Mobile phone services are one thing - but according to many brand Jesus is still very much alive, seek and thou shalt find.

For those of us who were 18-21 circa 2000 whatever happened to Metz, also is Mad dog 20/20 still going?

And for the more discerning lager drinker... Castlemaine 4X!

Yes, MD 20/20 has made a comeback in the last few years along with 'Hooch'. I shed a nostalgic tear every time I see small groups of Sea Mill chavs necking bottles of brightly coloured alcoholic squash.
