Blackburn to meltdown.

I don't think Bolton will recover - and I still predict a points deduction - and I think Blackburn could drop also.

Rotherham have to be favoured too. To lose to both Charlton and Bolton in a week, I wouldn't put any money on them.

A points deduction for Bolton would put the cat amongst the pigeons in terms of the relegation battle, more so now after Bolton's upturn in form, as they've hobbled a few of the other likely contenders.

Being they've pulled themselves back to be within just 3 points of safety, have already beaten MK Dons and Rotherham at home, still have to host Charlton and come to ours, and finish the campaign with an away game at Fulham (who's form is worse than ours over the last ten games, if not improved in the last few) so without a deduction Bolton may well feel they could claw it back.

With one; they are all but down, and though some might see it as a positive, I'd be worried that the likes of Rotherham and Charlton who have dropped off of late would get a boost, which wouldn't help us.

It certainly won't be a boring end to the season, that is for sure.

Following on from City's victory over ITFC, it was disappointing to hear Huddersfield and MK both had away wins in the East Midlands. Blackburn's defeat however, coupled with the other results has brought them into the relegation mix.

Thought about this thread yesterday when the results came in, & fair play to @Ashtonwurzel as it looks far from clear cut for them as it stands.

Next game at home to Fulham should give a good idea of what their season will look like; lose that, and they could be below us and/or MK Dons before they play again (away to Derby, which doesn't look too daunting on their current form tbf), and have to host MK Dons, which could end up a big game.

A Reading fan on 1FF's has said that 42 points was enough to stay up last year and the bottom 3 were 4 points better off at the same stage last season. When you say we only need 11 points to stay up, it suddenly doesn't appear so difficult!

It won't be enough if Rotherham get 17 points!

I never had the slightest doubt that we'd stay up. Teams that drop points because of goals in the 7th minute of added time are not relegation fodder. It's the ones that get consistently stuffed that take the drop.

The team had me worried for a while then Aiz! :grr:

They've probably got enough points but Brentford are really struggling since Xmas

Was only saying that yesterday. There is always one unexpected team that drops in with ten games left same as there`s always one that`s been at the bottom all season that gets away (hopefully us!) so Brentford could be it this year.

3 from 7 for me. You could maybe add Huddersfield but they should be safe with another 10 points and should get them relatively easily. Blackburn really are in the cack looking at that and their recent form but I can't see past the bottom 3 dropping especially if Bolton go in to admin.

I'd call it 2 from the 6 above Bolton to be honest, unless there are noises to suggest they won't go into admin. They have had an upturn in form, but I can't see anything other than relegation for them if they are docked 12 points, halfing their current tally.

Indeed, Bolton -12 have gone yet without that deduction, they are the team in the bottom 3 I would suggest most likely to get out of trouble.

Charlton are run by an idiot and are down IMHO and Bolton (-12) are gone as well. The 3rd spot?

A bit off-topic but they are around the bottom, so it's slightly relevant. Huddersfield have been playing really well recently, they should be comfortably safe.

I watched this video of their game against Preston last week, and it's unbelievable how they didn't manage to win! - http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/competitions/championship/10158164/preston-2-1-huddersfield

Pre season I had the bottom 3 down as 3 of 4 teams, Bolton, Charlton, Huddersfield and Rotherham. I now think it will indeed be 3 of those 4, and Hudderfield have surprised me this season.

Out of interest, what are your lottery numbers? ;)
