LJ - players need to socialize more

I'll pick a team full of energy for Newcastle

Sounds disappointingly confident to me.

Sounded to me a little like the tone of a teenage girl who is just hoping that *maybe* if she stands in the crowd at a One Direction concert, Harry will see her and ask her to marry him.

I honestly wouldn't read anything into it. The guy is just spouting shit because he's honestly out of ideas. I know for a fact the players are tight knit and all get along. You'll see 5/6 of them together at Starbucks in Cabot on a Wednesday morning.

Fair play though, one of the weirdest excuses I've ever heard

Ahhh. I get what he was trying to say.

Madam Matthews (gonna leave the autocorrect in) didn't recognise any of his team mates hence passing it to the Fulham player for the 2nd goal, therefore they need to socialise more.

Ah yeah,  I'm with LJ on that one now. What a tactical genius the little man is

They'll socialise when you quit.

Only news here is he has found another passive aggressive way to work a dig at the players into his interview. The amount of excuses he tries to slip in is pathetic. It is always subtle and sly but there is always a little signal that it is anyone but him. To be honest, even if it was anyone but him (which it isn't), we are so far beyond it being safe to consider him immaterial to the results we are producing, that there are literally zero excuses.

Perhaps he doesn't realise that it's him they don't respect

Actually , think he's more than aware and just waffling

Johnson and team have had a frank discussion and he then said perhaps they need a team night out.

The guy continues to stagger me.

I once said I could listen to Johnson all day long.

Tonight as I was driving home, I needed petrol, but I didn't want to stop and miss his post-match interview.  Eventually got to the nearest station to home, so had to stop, and sat in the car at the pump (getting looks from the staff)  at 10;34 as LJ came on.  I listened for about 90 seconds, and then decided to get out and fill up.

I don't think he even came out fighting.

Sad.

Please, can we do something to just survive this season.  I predict bright times ahead with some of our squad.

Same here Dave, got to Fox and Goose on A38 and was a pile up, so forced to listen to his post match. Drinking my way through my fridge stock as I type this before I ring the Samaritans :grr:

Was going to say your view Dave gave me some hope

but ,

Firstly , I assume if we drop there will be another big turniver of players and

have to be honest

I'm not convinced - they , virtually to a man lack real character or backbone and I'm not convinced to a significant degree by any of the signings

It is difficult to judge as the spirit / fight has apparently gone , confidence is nil and they don't respect the coach

Again hope you're right mate

Agree, will be massive turnover if we go down.

They aren't bad players, they need someone to galvanise them.

Also, it appears he's allowed groups of players to form?  I won't use the word clique, but they might just be natural groupings, it happens.  But he's lost the togetherness of Cotts's tiny squad.

I kept away from the new signings debates Dave , save to say on the day that DC would be the best of the lot (Last minute emergency !)

but as a bloke who understands dressing rooms

Did you think it was the best idea to bring in 3 foreign recruits at this time

Unfair on them for a start

When thinking about cliques I thought back to your moment that you changed your mind about LT (Very astute in your obs and perception I'd say)

Cliques - hmmmmm

Bet we could have a good go at their formation or not far off ! :(

Didn't mind Hegeler, as a one off.

Giefer wasn't needed.  Lucic or Fielding.  Would bring Frankie back in on Saturday.

Djuric is better than Wilbs, but Tammy doesn't play well with him.  We only need to play one up top.  If Taylor was on our radar, why not go with Tammy, Wilbs, Taylor and Engvall....with McCoulsky as a back up, or Paterson.

Does Wright count too...Aussie!

@BigTone condensed answer - No.

@Davefevs

Going back to your 'perceptions' etc

If LT did / said what has been widely reported , at Huddersfield

That to me was a pivotal moment

In LJs position (With the agreement of SL) LT would have either had to make a full and public apology in front of the whole squad or he'd be finished at this club  for me

That , to me was the time  exert his authority and make an example of LT as a message to the rest

Might be our most 'talented' player but there's a time you say 'Enough'

As soon as I heard that I immediately thought of David Brent (played by Johnson) taking his team for lunch time drinks and the ensuing awkwardness - no one wanting to be there, and Brent (Johnson) realizing it had been a 'washout'.

Rather than doing the above to back the Manager against a player revolt we give the no good another year on his contract! Go figure
