I have just had a look at the Cardiff forum to see their reaction to the arrival of Tomlin, and I found their site plastered with advertisements and flashing images. I've noticed that this is common with a lot of other clubs' sites. Thank God ours is free of that commercial crap. We seem to be in a minority.

Are they adverts for pies and fast food?

And `specialist` services for gentlemen normally only available in the far east?

Mainly this is due to the generosity of our user base in signing up to be "OTIB Supporters" which costs £5 per year. I don't think this quite covers all the hosting costs so the Supporters Trust picks up the shortfall.

We usually have an appeal for people to sign up once or twice a year to help us keep the site ad-free so feel free to turn this thread into that. ;)

Even though I am part of the Admin team, the credit for the look and feel of the forum is all due to @Tomarse who dedicates a lot of time to making it look right every time a major revision to the software is released but much credit also goes to our members for making this my favourite website on the internet, keep up the good work all :)

You can sign up for OTIB supporter at this link: http://www.otib.co.uk/index.php?/store/

Whenever I go on to other clubs' forums it makes me realise just how good OTIB really.

Many other forums are almost like dead zones, with little posting activity. Some , like  Palaces' , seem to be occupied by very angry fans who only have effin' & jeffin'  in their vocabularies and most could benefit from therapy.

We are lucky to have a wide range of posters, some decent debate , a good degree of lighthearted banter and plenty of humour and only a few posters who could benefit from therapy - although last season most of us would have fallen into that category!. All in all I think OTIB takes some beating.

Thanks to all the mods and admin people who keep this running for our benefit and also thanks to my fellow posters for all your contributions, as without you all it would be a waste of time and I would be talking to myself!

Don't have Pay Pal (or want it)

I'd like to chip in with my fiver, (just tried but its pay pal only, dont see why THEY need my mobile number etc just to process a payment to you, (as well as my home address and email .. besides my debit card details which should be enough imho )

Annoys me that everyone and everything online nowadays seem to want your life story and the ins and outs of a donkeys backside before kindly allowing me to simply hand over my money... no reflection on the excellent people here on Otib.. its the corporate barstewards that pi$$ me off.. paypal couldn't/wouldn't process the payment without knowing my mobile number wtf?  & what about the people who don't have a mobile?  I dont want to be inundated with text messages and/or unsolicited calls from whoever these bloody companies are affiliated to .. sod em!

Still happy to contribute to Otib though .. happy to send a cheque (remember them? :) ) or if you have another method of payment facility..

I'm sure PayPal are fine too, pity they're such nosey sods!

Just make one up, they won`t know if it`s correct or not. I do it all the time just to avoid all the sales bollocks.

Is this all included within the fiver we pay annually?

Of course. What do you think causes your membership to turn purple?

:clapping:

Are doctor's fees also included in the fiver then?

Does it only last a year? I've paid before but looks like no longer a supporter.

Yep. You pay the princely sum of £5 per year to contribute towards the ongoing running costs :)
