I'm going to say it, I like Colin Murray on the C5 programme.

I usually only watch the City game (all 30 seconds on a normal Saturday) but when Murray talks about us, it's someone who knows Championship football and does actually follow more than our results. Can't say the same for any previous C5 presenters or the ar$e biscuits on Sky.

He's a good guy, and Talksport is definitely worse off for him leaving. Jim White, decent person though he may be just makes me want to switch stations.

Nice report. Very nice.

Said last week I was beginning to the like the guy. Think it must be love... 'one of the most attractive sides in England'. Oh yes.

We were just the main game/first game shown.

Spoke about/showed analysis about how good we were for 5 straight minutes after the highlights were done too.

Colin Murray calls us ‘one of the most exciting sides in England’

Makes the day even sweeter :clapping:

Good to see our attacking play analysed by Iwelumo. He was great for us in his loan spell, and seems to be a decent guest pundit on the show.

He loves our Pato that`s for sure.

So, for those of use who didnt watch it, what were the main talking points etc what did they say?

Just saw the highlights on C5. Why oh why did CoD not shoot on his favoured left foot?  He cut inside and lost possession......

Smacks of low confidence in front of goal to me.

Colin and Chris Iwelumo gushing about City's football

and rightly so. It looks good, very good

Well, I'd have gathered that if previous reports saying were talking about it for some minutes, but a lot can be said in those minutes, and I'm just interested in the general gist of it. Were they talking of the squad? Lee Johnson? Our form? Or what?

Easier to watch it on catch up or whatever. They were VERY complimentary and covered it fully lets put it that way. they talked about all those things you mention.

And stop spanking that poor girl ffs

I see, very easy to say for any normal folk, sadly I am very hard of hearing (Deaf) and therefore cannot follow the programme on the catch up service, hopefully one of youse be kind enough to let me know. :)

How selfish was Kodjia with that chance just before the pen, 2 on 1 with the keeper, square it and its pretty much a guaranteed goal but goes alone on the angle.

Iwelumo wasn't quite as gushing about Cotterill's man management skills!

They were praising our attacking play and Chris Iwulemo in particular was very excited about Pato - they highlighted lots of moves where they circled players and showed the movement off the ball. They ran through each goal in slomo and stopped the action to highlight players` positioning and stuff like that. Colin Murray  called us something like `the most exciting side in England` or similar. Bit of a dig at COD for not passing to the two free players and shooting instead. The interview with LJ pretty much was as expected and Mick McCarthy was very complimentary. It seems C5 have a bit of a soft spot for us now.

Is it that catch-up doesn`t have subtitles which makes it impossible to watch for you? If so, C5 do repeat it on a Sunday morning normally around 10:30 or so. If you do only get to see it on catch-up though I would say it`s still worth it for all the visual stuff they did.

He needs to work on his finishing for sure.If he can start scoring we'll have a hell of a player on our hands.

Watched Fammy's goal a few times and I can't get past thinking it maybe came off his shoulder rather than head. Anyone else think that or do I need to visit specsavers to check my prescription?

Lots of comments about it being a great header so I suspect may be my eyesight.

If I were to be honest with you, I'd get more information from someone on here quoting what was said than relying on "live" subtitles for a show that has had no pre-planned script. Plus I've tried 5onDemand before with the football show, no subtitles are ever offered.

Let's say it wasnt the cleanest of headers, but he does out jump two

I will have to see if its done PROPERLY for the 10:30am Sunday show like the BBC do for their "live" show repeats. Never knew they did this (showing a repeat on sundays). Also, thank you very much for your reply over the matter :) The CH5 football show on their catch up never has subtitles offered.

Aww thank you ever so much!! I'll try what some have said and try the Sunday 10:30am show but I guess CH5 wont be as efficient as the BBC and I'll probs more than likely would have to rely on your transcribing.

Thanks again for will willing to take your time to do such a selfless act, you are amazing :).

Iwulemno on Cotts

perhaps he wanted a good look at them all. Who knows?

Thought his thoughts on Cotts were quite fair, he doesn't say anything bad, just that he may not be able to deal wth prima donnas…we'll have to wait and see!

Actually I have it on record on the BT box thingy Septic, so will watch later, bit exhausted after all the excitement to-day, thanks for that though.

Unless I missed it, the highlights didn’t show Garner’s kick out at Flinty that our radio commentators were convinced was a red. Anyone seen it?

I saw it live, but not on the C5 prog. The Ref spoke to both players  and I thought he'd give Flint a yellow and a red to Garner. The Assistant didn't wave for any indiscretion, yet the Ref did notice it.

It seems Iwelumo doesn't have much time for Cotterill, no doubt a legacy from playing under him and maybe the 2 having personal issues. He did say he played under him at 2 clubs though so if he thought SC's man management skills were so lacking you'd think he might have thought better of going back for more at the 2nd club.

However for him to lecture on how SC should have approached this weekend as a 'manager in waiting' seems churlish, particularly as he has never been the position of being a manager himself.

As for Cotterill's man management skills it's clear he doesn't suffer fools gladly and will shoot from the hip when he feels it necessary but you have to say the great spirit he engendered amongst our Championship winning squad was about the best most City fans will have ever seen.

Sour grapes from CI imo., and out of order to criticise Cotterill so publicly like that on national TV - all a bit odd and unnecessary really.

I'm with you on that. But the fact he got head and shoulders above the two  defenders made it happen.

To be honest , if he'd squared it Bobby had a tap in. No matter how well he's playing he's obviously desperate for his first goal and that was evident in not shooting

Maybe, but he's on there to give opinion rather than try and stay friends with people.  I'm sure the players need some help and direction and that's probably where it's largely coming from.  Although they have signed a number of new players Cotts was only just there, so seems even more weird.

famara is proving you don't have to be a selfish player to get more than your fair share of goals, much more of a team player, I wouldn't swap them, and I admit I thought he was a donkey after 6 games,  so shows what I know.
