HoldenBall
Another boycott tonight I presume, or was it another cycling event in Bristol? 65, less than our 70 to Scunthorpe. I guess they can't use that against us anymore. The 65ers.

Wanderingred
My god. Some really ignorant posts here. Every single club participating in this years tin pot trophy have boycotted games. There were three figure crowds and tiny away followings all over the country tonight in protest at the disgraceful reformatting of the competition just as there were in the previous rounds. This is about more than trying to mock our local rivals this is about protecting the integrety of our game. Id hope that god forbid, should we ever end up playing in this joke competition again in its current format, we would take zero away fans.

I know someone who booked to go on their version of CATS (is it RATS?) to this match, the club phoned him last week and asked him to come in a get a refund as only 8 people had booked and they were therefore cancelling travel. So yes, as much as we rip the pish out of them they were at least doing the right thing and boycotting

They are insulting Portsmouth with their presence tonight aren't they? Luckily there is a proper game on in Salisbury tonight. And what was good was that some Pompey fans boycotted their own game (fair enough given the state of that cup and the opposition) but pitched up at a non-league game to shout for Winchester and so put some money into the game. Any sags out shouting for non league clubs as part of the boycott? Or was it too cold to go out on a school night?

ExiledAjax
From the Guardian match-report. I say fair play to the Gas for the bit in bold, although the entire report reads like a comedy script. "Portsmouth also set their worst post-war home attendance but they at least reached four figures, with 1,200 turning up at Fratton Park to see their opponents Bristol Rovers bring off their first-choice goalkeeper Kelle Roos after two minutes to circumvent the competition’s selection rules that bring a £5,000 fine if broken. His replacement, Will Puddy, conceded a penalty with his first act of the game only to save it. However, Portsmouth still won 1-0 thanks to an 88th-minute winner from Kal Naismith, with Puddy making an error. Rovers did not seem overly fussed by the result."
