Dont be daft, baguettes can be a tad ragged around the edges whereas world war shells are a little smoother. You really need to live here to appreciate the difference.

Presumably you’d lubricate the baguette with un morceau du beurre?? Would that be similar for the shell, or is there an alternative.

Fascinating learning about other cultures…?

One could leave the baguette for a few days until it went stale and became firmer and voila. There might be a danger of internal breakage though.
