The lads had plenty of threads about him but wow.

That was one of the finest performances I’ve seen in a city shirt .
enjoy him these last few months , sad to say he’s off to much bigger & better things

Just said on the match thead after that performance would not be surprised if a prem team will want to get the deal done quick to secure him

I think he's at his best when he's got a bit of freedom in midfield and having Naismith and James behind him gives him that.

Its hard to believe that he's only 19 and we need to enjoy him over the next few months because he's unlikely to be with us next season.

Its disappointing when we lose players to The Prem but we should be very proud when they've come through our academy.

He’s ridiculous.

That passage of play when he beat about 5 players before being fouled.

He looks like a Real Madrid player playing for us.

Too late hopefully. He seems a very level headed lad & there was a piece by Alex crook last week that said he’s staying until the summer. That was a masterclass today from a 19 year old lad . West Brom couldn’t get near him.

Absolutely superb today & they couldn’t get near him all game.  For me that’s the best I’ve seen him in a City shirt.  Lock him away until Wednesday morning as if you had watched that you’d be mad not to want him.

He does seem to find those pockets easier to find in this formation  , pring/bell/scott linking up together is a very exciting combination to look forward to .

Dolly’s good at locking players away ?

A complete box to box performance. There is surely absolutely no way he is still with us next season. That was a decent in-form WBA team that'd won 10 of their last 13 games, and he completely ran the show.

Playing like that it would not surprise me if he does get his dream move to Spurs.

God I hope not. Spurs seem to have an unenviable ability to ruin young championship stars.

Even better, sign him this summer and loan him back for next season! ? not likely, but just want him to have more time at the club, a joy to watch.

And Its not even close.

We are blessed to have him.

We have had players who can pass, those that can tackle and those that can beat two or three players in my 55+ years of watching the City, but I have never seen all those things in one player. He is the complete package and he looked two levels above anybody else on the pitch. And he is only 19 FFS.

What worries me is that when you Google Alex Scott, he is now above the BBC pundit.

Has to be up there with his best, if not the best, performance for us.

Agreed - let’s hope there weren’t any scouts there, watching him today ?

I do wonder whether we may need to fend off a big bid before the window closes on Tuesday - hope I am wrong as we need to build our side around him next season and see where it takes us!

I think it hugely unlikely he will be here next season somehow.

However, we have set the bar with Antoine, so Alex may not be here but we will be at least £25m better off.

Was it Scott that did that outrageous, but superb back heel down the near touch line towards the end? My MOM by some way.

Yes, and I honestly believe it was because Naismith had done one a few seconds earlier and he took it as a challenge. :)

Yes, great bit of play.  Naismith did something similar in the same passage of play.

I’m worried someone meets our £25M asking price. Time for a rethink

He's a £100m player in the making.

Let’s wait a bit longer and take the £100m

He’s the most complete player I’ve seen play for us in 25 years of watching - especially when you consider he’s doing it in the hardest position on the pitch and at the highest level we’ve played during that time.

I just can’t think of another player who comes close to his all-round game? And he’s 19! ?

Struggling to remember a better individual performance from someone who is so clearly far too good for us!

His technical ability, passing and flair is off the charts. An absolute joy today. Can’t see anything in his game that would stop him reaching elite level.

scott is 4 years younger, has 2 years longer on his contract And is miles better.
25m would seem low.

Absolutely.  Would be a great signing for Liverpool with their aging midfield.  Cue the confused emojis!  I remember saying why on earth aren’t Man United making sure they get Bellingham and ensuring he knows he would be in their squad. He was good enough. These top teams could save themselves a lot of money by buying players one move earlier.

I didn't take time to read this thread as I would had started something myself, but Scott was absolutely fantrastic today.

Faultless performanace and what a brilliant player. Make the most of this as he will be gone in the summer, unfortunately.

Simply outstanding…….let’s hope he signs that new contract!

Being realistic , I don’t think he will & he has two & a half years left on the one he has . I think it’s best to just enjoy the lad. He won’t be here by the time the summer window shut unfortunately . The upside is , if he plays like that until the end of the season then the £25m supposedly quoted will just be for his shin pads

He’s already won the euros with the u19s, I know it’s no guarantee of senior call up but he’s in the right circles already.

I missed the game today but absolutely buzzing for him and Sam Bell, just catching up on all the threads and comments. Sounds like a great win

You talk a lot sense Percy generally but there’s no way I’d take £20m but depends who come in for him. If it’s one of the big guns then he’ll probably be there for years or not kick on & get sold cheap. I really think the lad got his head screwed on . If he went to a club like villa then there’s every chance off a big sell on. I think he’s in charge of his own destiny . He won’t be going to Bournemouth or palace that’s for sure

I find it very surprising that a PL club hasn’t taken a £25m punt on him in this window. He might be a ‘one for the future’ for a big PL club at the moment but there is so much to work with.

Who’s to say that one won’t before 11pm on Tuesday……hopefully not but you never know

They will wish they had when he sells for 30+

But there is still Match of the Day to come. Let's hope they don't sing  his praises too much.

He's very good and certainly one of the best i've seen in my 40 years of following City.

In terms of a fee, we have to remember that he's playing Champ football and The Prem is a different beast all together.

I would say 20mill with a number of performance related/sell ons is about right. If he goes on to become a full England international (and it is an if) then as long as we benefit from it, thats all we can ask.

I think at this point it's pretty much a given he's going to go on and represent England for a very long time.

I'm convinced if his next move is right, he plays for England within 2 years.

He has everything to make it to the very top. Just needs a little luck, he is some talent.

People might laugh at that but he is a Grealish that plays CM and can defend. England simply do not produce midfielders like him.

I think you've answered your own question.  No prem club is gonna spend £25m for 'one for the future'. He goes for that fee then he's immediately on the bench for a top 6 team or starting for anybody else.

Fwiw I think the whole of the prem is watching him and are waiting for the season to finish to confirm whether or not he can put in an 8 out 10 performance most games. He carries on playing like today then there will be a bidding war like we've not seen before at this club.

If only it worked like that. £100m to a prem club selling to a top 6 prem club, championship club selling to prem probably has a ceiling of about £25/30m post COVID.

Agree with your concept, only exception is Morgan Gibbs White, I haven't seen enough of him to know how AS compares to be honest but Scott is just a special standout talent so my gut feel is he has to be at the top end of your bracket if not above

England do produce midfielders like him….Bellingham being the prime example.

Enjoyable.

People often say a young footballer "speaks so well", but honestly he speaks so well. Visibly delighted for Bell, and some lovely and encouraging words about Francois at the end. Also some self-reflection that belies his 19 years.

Bellingham speaks with incredible maturity for a young man, and Scott echoes that.

MGW moved from a prem club to a newly promoted prem club for £25m? that type of move wasn't explicitly covered but seems to fit close enough to a lower prem team buying someone.

I see quite few similarities between Thiago and Scott, the way they glide across the pitch and direct their passes directly into team mates path.
