Hull City at home match thread

Good strike by Nahki, fully deserved win: well done, lads!

4 points gained thanks to penalties in 2 matches: just to remember to everyone how much refereeings can influence results/tables and why anomalies like the one we endured shouldn't be accepted passively.

Anyway, this new trend is way more likeable. ?

Yes. But, as we’ve seen, it doesn’t mean the ref is going to give them!

Liam can’t come out in his Hull press conference and say it wasn’t a penalty.

He'll moan about the one they weren't given - in his opinion.

Ball hit Prings hand when it was fired at him from 3 yards during that melee late on.

But they handled it as well during that phase.

I am sure you are right, but the one team we will not be tacking lectures off this season over penalty decisions is Hull, after the travesty at their place.

Thought Hull looked a poor side, we were definitely the better team but did seem to lack tempo on the ball for spells. Great to get another penalty and put in a good team performance, Mehmeti looks to be a constant outlet for midfielders.

Bit of an aside but thought Hull’s Coyle was one of the least technical players I’ve seen at this level. Didn’t do anything wrong but the way he controlled and hit the ball seemed awful.

We looked committed, fought for every ball and moved the ball at pace. Just missing a bit of something in the opposition box but a good performance against a tough defensive side.
Well done to all.
No new injuries and confidence to take into the cup game.

Hope the team just take the Man City game as it comes and enjoy the experience.  Win would be amazing but if we lose who really cares. Go out and enjoy.

Love beating Hull through a penalty. Justice.

We are getting a bit binary score wise and look like we should be scoring more the space we create. Hopefully that comes. Equally gave up very few clear cut chances, one very decent save by Max. Last three at home in the league 1-0, 1-1, 1-0, great points return.

Yep 46 points from THREE games !

Good win. And another penalty! We were the better side, albeit lacking spark up front at times. Hull looked very average and struggled when we pressed them, which we didn’t do enough.

We saw the game out very well at the end. The only time we were really under pressure was just after our goal.

And lastly I much prefer the new kit.

It was definitely an good team performance especially the defence as Hull never looked like scoring, apart from one header from a corner. If there is one criticism it’s City’s crossing. Time after time City break and  get into a good wide position and, time after time, the move ends with a low cross that hits a defender. If only the wide players gave themselves an extra second and looked up to pick out a City player. In defence of the wide players it’s not much use putting over a high cross as City hasn’t  got a tall forward who’s likely to beat a central defender in the air

Very much doubt a win is happening!

Probably true, but this competition has a long and illustrious history of chucking the form book out of a 16th-floor window.

We’ve absolutely nothing to lose; a full house behind us, on a terrific unbeaten run and against a top, top side who have looked distinctly human recently. We can just enjoy the occasion and if they unthinkable happens it will be our best victory of all time IMHO.

or 3 points. One at Sunderland, two today. Our precious penalty was in a 3-2 defeat at Coventry so no points gained from that one.
