Admin phantom Posted June 28, 2023 Admin Report Share Posted June 28, 2023 Only sharing this for information purposes (please NO political comments on this thread please) ......... UPDATED FROM GWR ON RAIL STRIKES IN JULY The RMT (on board and station staff) will strike on Thursday 20, Saturday 22 and Saturday 29 July. On these dates we will only be able to run a limited service, starting later and finishing much earlier than usual – and most of our network will have no service whatsoever. Trains that are planned to run will be subject to short notice changes and cancellations. We are also expecting there to be an impact on the days before and after strikes too, in particular Friday 21 July. Our teams are working to get journey planners updated as well as our dedicated webpage at www.gwr.com/strike as soon as possible. We will also be making customers aware through station and on board announcements, station posters, and traditional and social media. ASLEF (train drivers) has also announced a ban on overtime working from Mon 3 July to Sat 8 July. While we do not anticipate that this will have a major impact on our services, customers should check before they travel using www.gwr.com/check. As a result, our Night Riviera Sleeper service will not run from Sunday 2 July to Friday 7 July, restarting on Sun 9 July. If you can make your networks aware of these new dates, that would be greatly appreciated and as ever if there’s anything you need at all please do not hesitate to get in touch. Admin phantom Posted July 18, 2023 Admin Report Share Posted July 18, 2023 1 hour ago, CTIDhc said: Anyone know what the parking situation is like around the ground? Taken from Football Fans Guide: There is a large car park behind the Fratton End but this costs £10 per car. It can be accessed via Anson Road (PO4 8SX), but this is opposite to the away end so is probably not really suitable for away fans to use. The good news is that there are few parking restrictions in place close to the ground. So if you arrive early enough, you can normally find some street parking only a few minutes walk away. When I have visited, I have parked in one of the side streets, found on the right-hand side of the A2030 before you reach the Good Companion pub. Alternatively, Miltoncross School, which is a five minute walk from the ground offers parking at £5 per car. The school is located in Milton Road (post code PO3 6RB). Derek Hall adds; ‘There is also a very large car park (for a fiver) on the corner of Velder Avenue and Milton Road (a couple of minutes walk behind the away end)’. There is also the option of renting a private driveway near Fratton Park via YourParkingSpace.co.uk.
