Mr Popodopolous
My guess for Sykes was either Leeds at home or the next game. Few weeks was what was said.
BCFCGav
Good enough point and performance in isolation, I think the 3-4-3 is making us a little more dangerous without sacrificing our defensive solidity. Would have been another clean sheet if not for some handy defending. Play-offs drifting away a wee bit, need a win soon. No new knocks (which I’m going to start abbreviating to NNK, because I’m a trailblazer). Injured: Atkinson Naismith Benarous Sykes
James54De
Positive news on 3 of the 4, no mention of Benarous. Rob and Sykes back in two weeks. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-injuries-nottingham-forest-9056119

Mr Popodopolous
2 weeks was about what I thought for Sykes. Leeds at home had we been a bit lucky, few weeks can easily stretch into a month and a half give or take.

BCFCGav
Rare lapse from me yesterday, apologies! Twine and Williams (cup-tied and suspended) were replaced in the MD20 by Backwell and Nelson. No new injuries on the night. I’m honestly a bit gutted we didn’t take any of our chances. A replay at their place will be bloody tricky! But we did WHU second time around so all not lost. Rumours Twine has a knock. Hope they’re wrong. Injured: Atkinson Naismith Benarous Sykes
BCFCGav
Ok, maybe not the team we wanted to see. But it’s still a good XI imo. We need to win tonight, keep us in touch with the playoffs after no league wins in 4… we’re due one. You reds. Twine is injured. Maybe what we deserve for doing a silly, expensive loan with no option! Backwell leaves the MD20 as Williams comes back in after suspension. BCFCGav
No new outs and no new ins. Same 20 from Tuesday night. Dire Mebude not yet eligible after his deadline day signing. I hate playing Leeds… COYR ️ Injured: Atkinson Naismith Benarous Twine Sykes
BCFCGav
One win in nine, come on Liam. That’s below par. I knew Leeds were good, I didn’t realise the gap was THAT big. Sad eye opener. One more game to save the season (for now), Forest away. Everything crossed… Few bumps and bruises but nothing too scary. Davefevs
Anyone got an update on Harv. Seen him on the training ground. @GrahamC Lewis Thomas was doing the keeper warm-up so assume he’s been extended? @BCFCGav I will correct Twine to cup-tied. Mr Popodopolous
Just on Naismith and his rolling injuries, delved into some very brief data. Remember he moved in January 2021 from Wigan to Luton during his financial meltdown. League Only Portsmouth- League One 2017-18 19 Starts, 7 Sub Appearances Wigan- Championship 2018-19 22 Starts, 8 Sub Appearances 2019-20 22 Starts, 15 Sub Appearances Wigan- League One September 2020 to mid January 2021 12 Starts Luton- Championship Mid January 2021 to May 2021 17 Starts, 5 Sub Appearances 2021-22 42 Starts 134 League Starts in 5 seasons is not too bad. It's not a Williams type disparity but not necessarily a Sicknote either. 35 Sub Appearances too. 134/230. Middling..and better than his availability here. 23 last season and 9 this. 32/76 169/230 prior 5 seasons. 2 and 4 respectively sub wise here. 38/76. Edited February 5 by Mr Popodopolous Doh- He played for Portsmouth, didn't he?
BCFCGav
3 out and 2 in as we name one 8 subs rather than 9. Pring and TGH are suspended and Nelson loses his place, perhaps playing for the unders? Backwell and OTC take spots on the bench. SOS boys (save our season..). COYR. BCFCGav
That’s the season done isn’t it? 7th Feb. 1 win in 10. Roll on the Euros I guess but what an abject season, all stemming from a weak-willed board. BCFCGav
2 out, 3 in as we name all 9 subs rather than 8 as on Weds. Backwell and OTC make way for the returns of Pring and TGH after suspension, as well as a first bench appearance for Dire Mebude. No returnees from the injured ranks yet though Twitter folk are saying soon. Big Rob played for the unders today, as mentioned by Fevs. Win today and play-offs are back on… Injured: Atkinson Naismith Benarous Twine Sykes
BCFCGav
Get in. A league win at last. We so needed that. Cornick and Pring… hopefully ok? Pring especially concerning, I don’t understand why he played on after his knock. We’ll see if they’re about Tuesday. Pring would be a big old loss. Injured: Atkinson Naismith Benarous Twine Sykes
Davefevs
Atkinson and Naismith hopefully playing for u21s tomorrow. Sykes and Twine close. Sykes very close, has done his full-pace “test”. I know you didn’t have him on your list, but HWR played 90 for u21s on Saturday. +++++ Ive added a new unavailability category - “match fitness” to distinguish between a player back in training but not yet ready for for first team. Big Rob falls into that category, as Will Kal if he plays tomorrow.
