Edgy Red
I reckon Leicester's bench could make the play offs! Sadly, i think we are still a long way short of both Leicester and Cov.

BCFCGav
Community Shield @ 4. Good chance to see how the best two sides in England last year are looking.
elhombrecito
I'll stick it on once I've watched Sweden (hopefully) knocking out the US.
Sir Geoff
I wish Lee Hendrie would shut up. What a boring so and so. Good minimalist commentary spoilt by Hendrie.
GlastonburyRed
Cov have recruited well, don't how they manage it, but Robins is quite some manager.
petehinton
Palmer has been excellent. Amazing what actually playing in a side that suits you can do.
Roe
It's not coming off yet but Palmer exactly the sort of player we could've done with yesterday.. Looks threatening from long shots and constantly looking for key through balls going forward

Red white and red
Coventry look like a quality side. Based on their recruitment and todays showing they’ll go well.
Mr Popodopolous
Still think they could add a couple depth wise as well..Maybe a centre back (in a back 3 you need 5 over thr course of a season IMO) and a right wing back short, they took some time to add new players. GlastonburyRed
McNally & Doyle were quality for them last season (would have loved for us to go for McNally, I suspect Doyle would have been unobtainable), and a bit of a surprise to see neither of them back with them for 2023/24. Nice of him to have his annual decent performance today then! FWIW, I always felt we made too many excuses for Palmer re 'setting up the side around him'. IMO, he never took enough responsibility for improving his own performances and making it work for himself within the team. By contrast, I think Wells showed how a player can still contribute even in a system that's fair from ideal for them.

Kingswoodactor
Leicester look so open to the counter. Large gaps in their back line. Will take a while for them to get last season’s ‘cobwebs’ out of their system IMO, so probs good to play them early doors before they click. Really impressed by Coventry already though, pretty sure they’ll be up there this campaign. Can just see it now, Jay DaSilva in the Championship team of the year for 2023/

Kingswoodactor
Dewsbury Hall too good for the champ IMO. Can still see him leaving before end of the window.
CliftonCliff
44 minutes ago, petehinton said: Palmer has been excellent. Amazing what actually playing in a side that suits you can do. He looks like the player we briefly saw here when he had the movement of Adobe ahead of him. Coventry’s front men are making some good runs and KP’s passing has been for the most part spot-on. He’s a dangerous and creative player in this form, and with Hamer in there as well Coventry pose a real threat. I think they are likely to replicate their performance of last season, even without Gyokeres.

Garland-sweden
Palmer is a very good player, showed it sometimes with us. Why he didnt make it here I dont know. Him and Afobe was class, also Eliasson and Palmer connected well.

CliftonCliff
Great finish. Looks like Coventry will pay the price for missed chances. They could have put the game to bed before DH scored.

Correction: Palmer is a good player in terms of technical ability, however he lacks many other key elements required to be a good player at this level (focus, fitness, discipline, ability to carry out instructions). Fair comment. I don’t disagree for a moment that he underperformed here, for whatever reason, and didn’t justify his high earnings. Nor do I have any criticism of the decision to let him go, which was fully justified. It will be galling, though, if he plays like this all season and Coventry finish top six again.
