Oxford United at home - first round of the Carabao Cup

Decent draw that.

This forum seems even more strange then ever at the moment! Its not a dull draw at all.

Seems we would only be happy with Man U, or Man C, or Liverpool or Arsenal, get beat, but have a great night that we talk about as a high for years on end, wrap it in meaningless hype, and lose the four surrounding league games.

Deja vu!

I know his wages will be a massive step up from us but don’t get this Bournemouth thing

12,000 max home gates , pretty poor away support , no real football vibe in Bournemouth it all feels a bit safe to me

I said the same with Antoine & Kelly ,  think he could have done better myself and the other 2 , still prem I suppose though .

TBF they hardly ever get THAT !

For me the cup is a chance to see City at a ground I haven’t been to or not been to for a while. Or if it’s a home draw a team and players you’ve not seen play recently or at all.

Also it’s dull having a team you’re going to play again soon or just played but having looked we don’t have either team until December I think so that’s not so bad.

Yeah get that. For me its dull worrying about a competition we are not going to win that costs us league points but I guess Im unfashionable and find being mid-bottom half of this league dull.

Does anyone know why QPRv Norwich wasn't played this week ?

From the QPR site: "The club would like to thank the EFL and Norwich City for accommodating our request for the tie to be played a week later than all other first round matches.

This request was made in order to provide additional time for our pitch to settle following extensive works during the close season."

Are they moving the goal forward so it can be seen from the upper tier?

I just caught up with the highlights, that Roberts assist was a great turn and great ball, he looks exciting.

Yeah, Roberts looks like he’ll become the fan’s favourite if he can perform like that every week. Knight looked a real bargain as well. Some excellent recruitment by Nige this window.

A far better showing than on Saturday albeit against lower league opponents. Good for morale throughout the club.

They were very well crafted and taken goals last night.  We moved the ball around with ease after we went 2-1 up. Arguably our opener was against the run of play, and we could have found ourselves trailing had it not been for some woeful finishing from them.

Each goal you can pick out a really good moment in each of the moves.  Movement off the ball for the opener, the dribble and cross for the second.  The turn for the third. The steal and the touch around the keeper for the fourth and the chip from Wells into Naismith for the fifth.  Sadly their goal was a mess from our point of view.  Tanner completely losing his man and then Max getting caught flat footed with a tame header.

Nice to see we are capable of still playing some nice stuff even without Scott in the engine room.
