Rob Dickie is a masterful signing by the way, wise decison making, good frame for a cb and decent with the ball at his feet. 
 

Normally a defender of this calibre would cost a lot more at our level imo.

We look solid, don’t really look like scoring though and a couple of really odd decisions from Wells in the final third taking way too long on the ball.

Like to see Bell switch to right hand side and Mehmeti on the left, Naismith for Williams at some point too.

We’re far better as a counter attacking team but Alex Scott and Andi Weimann were so crucial to that.

Knight working his socks off, splitting their central midfield up, so they can't get into a compact shape.  Gotta watch what players do off the ball too.  Spread the play, nibbled away, nice interplay.  A decent first half performance from him.

If not a pen then a definite foul on the edge and potential denying of a goal scoring opportunity.  How Stroud ignores it just does my head in.

 

Decent / v.solid first half.

They exposed us once from a square throw-in, from LWB through Mitchell to RWB, but Vyner blocked the end-shot.

They tried it again, we'd learned...Belly nipping it away from Hutchinson, didn't get run of the ball.

 

Pitch is dry / sticky (surprise, surprise) to suit Millwall.  Not helping us at all.

Happy so far.

Stroud’s refereeing of that incident was like someone seeing the sun rise and saying ‘no, it’s still midnight.’

On penalties, had a quick look around the games. 4 awarded first half in the Championship.

Hull, Southampton, Sunderland all converted. Blackburn missed one- they certainly get a few don't they Blackburn.

Problem with Naismith in this sort of game is that he takes more risks and that increases the chances of a goal at both the ends of the pitch. The players on at the moment are less inventive but less of a gamble.

His strength in the challenge has been important, maybe not going forward as we would like , but he's done ok IMO.

Not had this for a while, bit of strength off the bench..

I think so far this performance is a good summery of where we are. We’re solid, comfortable on the ball and well organised but lack creativity and are a bit too easy to nullify. 

Hopefully Naismith and Mehmeti can provide an element of the unexpected in a good way. Plus will be interesting to see Bell down the middle.
