In the last round Norwich City edged past Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers with a 99th-minute goal in a low-key Carabao Cup first-round meeting. With penalties looming, substitute Jonathan Rowe headed in with the last action at Loftus Road in a game that only sprung to life in the closing stages.

Last season in February we beat them 1-0 at Ashton Gate with Mark Sykes getting the goal, they were restricted to just one shot on target in a game in which Cornick and Mehmeti made their home debuts, highlights: https://youtu.be/ih3ItMUpOWg

They ended last season immediately above us with three points more than our 59.

They have had their best league start since 2002 and won 4-0 away at Huddersfield last time out but face an anxious wait to discover the extent of scorers  Josh Sargent's ankle injury.

They signed Bournemouth full-back Jack Stacey on a free transfer and in early June they signed Republic of Ireland centre-back Shane Duffy on a free transfer. Duffy, 31, was released by Fulham at the end of his contract and signed a three-year deal with the Canaries.

At the end of June they also signed Spanish winger Borja Sainz on a three-year contract after he left Turkish club Giresunspor. The 22-year-old, who played for his country at under-19 level, scored nine goals in 32 games last season.

They signed winger Christian Fassnacht from Swiss side Young Boys for an undisclosed fee. The Canaries have signed the Switzerland international on a two-year deal, with the option of an additional year. Fassnacht, 29, will reunite with Canaries boss David Wagner, who he played under at Young Boys.

They have also signed Pedro Lima on a season's loan from Sao Paulo-based Brazilian side Palmeiras. The 20-year-old Brazilian midfielder will initially likely be part of the Canaries' Under-21s side.

In mid August they announced the signing of goalkeeper George Long from Millwall on a free transfer. The shot-stopper joins the club on a two-year deal which coincided with Tim Krul signing for Luton Town.

On the eve of this season their manager had this to say: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66404683

Head-to-head record

Won: 21

Lost: 37

Drawn:18

Officials

Referee: Sam Allison

Assistants: Rob Smith and Bhupinder Singh Gill

Fourth official: James Bell

The club maintains a healthy celebrity support with celebrity cook Delia Smith  a joint majority shareholder, alongside her husband, Michael Wynn Jones. Stephen Fry is a fan. Actor Hugh Jackman is also a fan of the club, having been taken to Carrow Road as a child by his English mother, though he turned down an opportunity to become an investor in the club in 2010. Other well-known supporters include television presenter Simon Thomas, who is vice-president of the Norwich City Supporters Trust. Norfolk-born musician, model and media personality Myleene Klass, fiction author Philip Pullman, and former Labour politician Ed Balls. Journalist and broadcaster David Frost also declared his love for The Canaries during his lifetime.

Think this game will give Nige the opportunity to play Naismith in midfield, what with Dickie back from suspension, plus it allows Nige to rest Williams, ready for Swansea.  Possibly King for James too.

I’m sure Norwich will mix it up a bit too.

I expect he might have been rested anyway but it looks like Josh Sargeant picked up a fairly bad injury on Saturday.

Looked very nasty, but I was surprised he was walking / limping towards the dugouts.  Ankle ligaments???

Tricky tie this early but get through and who knows where it’ll lead us. Hope we find the right balance between rotation and remaining strong. And really hoping Norwich management have all their eggs in the promotion basket so put the kids out.

Hoping for a top birthday present from City ?⚪

Barnes and Idah dropping in.

If the Huddersfield CBs followed Barnes and Idah deep…then room for the wingers to chase over the top.

Wingers tucking in to condense centre of pitch when keeper then going long.

When Huddersfield tried to play out through their FBs and wingers, they all shuffle across, rather than CB passing marker to other CB, and the midfield runner not allowed to create 2v1.

Was gunna go tonight, but they have now put the prices up by £2. I know it's only £2, but why do they need to do this? All tickets are online, so no more admin costs etc. Just keep the prices as low as possible and try to attract as big a crowd as possible.

I thought it was a bit daft putting them up from a tenner. Any ideas on how many we've sold?
