We set up completely wrong first half but credit to pearson for changing it just before halftime, maybe if he didnt we wouldn't of scored.

 

Dickie was quality, sykes is a warrior, pring shaky at times but did great in the end.

To be this close to the playoffs with the amount of investment we have had these past years is a credit to pearson and the backroom staff.

Yes, Cov outplayed us in the middle of the pitch in the first half, but the game ended up being far far less one sided than many are making out.

Up to the change in formation we were pretty much being overrun.

Afterwards, we controlled them pretty much and restricted them to very little in the way of chances. In fairness we did not trouble them much either, but we were a goal up and it was up to them to make something happen.

I don’t think any neutral watching us is going to think we are about the take the table by storm, but get some players back and who knows, we might be able to push on a bit.

I just can’t imagine where we would be in the league with this squad without Nige.

Do wake up and smell the coffee, SL, before some other club seeking promotion offer Nige a contract he can’t turn down.  Very poor managerial skills, but hey ho it is what we have come to expect.

Even second half, except for their late pressure. Not a great show but a very good win, especially given our injury situation.

Dickie MOTM but Pring was excellent too, good performances by King and Sykes, more hard work than quality from the others, included Yeboah, who did some clever tackles.

For once a good refereeing too.

Good sign when a side can be second best but keep a clean sheet and win the game. Regardless of how the game itself went, getting the result is the main objective and fair play to City for digging in. Can't argue with league position either!

Interesting seeing how many of our fans feel that we "got battered" today.

We restricted Coventry to 1 shot on target. I can't remember them having a big chance all game.

The narrative seems to be rather different when we're the team who only manages 1 shot on target!

Well they did hit the bar twice and miss a couple of very good chances in the first 20 minutes or so.

When we made the change we much improved, great result.

It’s a funny one isn’t it as Max didn’t really have a save to make so can’t really say we were battered. If a team can’t hit the target what do they deserve? Not a lot

Max had 0 saves to make, and them ‘hitting the bar’ is basically the same as saying they hit two shots off target as they pretty much clipped the top of the bar whilst heading over. Differently story if they crash off the bar and create a goal mouth scramble or something.

No doubt we will get 3 or 4 players back to only lose another 3 or 4 players that just seems to how it goes for us over the past few seasons
