Open End Numb Legs
Well the prospect certainly polarises opinions. My view is he would be a bigger gamble than others, a roll of the dice. The media would rather he fail than succeed. Do we need a roll of the dice?
RUSSEL85
Nice guy, poor manager. Would be a poor decision and an expensive one too I reckon.
Riaz
Sacking Pearson and appointing Lampard would be totally ridiculous. I'd be fuming. I'd also expect us to tumble down the table.
W-S-M Seagull
Considering SL once approached Gerrard, it wouldn't surprise me if they tried for Lampard too.

Rocky
Lampard = more TV games and more revenue.
Marina's Rolls Royce
It's only page 2. Surely it takes at least 16 to find out he's not even being considered? But plenty of time for more outrage about a new manager we won't end up with.
Gazred
Would turn a few heads but we don't really make appointments like that. I'd think he'd want his own brand of football rather than adopt our philosophy but perhaps they might align. Overall, I think it's unlikely he's Nige's replacement. Kingswood Robin
36 minutes ago, Silvio Dante said: Firstly - I wouldn’t be surprised if Lampard was interested. His reputation currently is such that he needs to look at this level and he is more of a coach than a manager. Albeit not a very good one. Surprisingly, as he is quite an intelligent man, I’ve always found his football intelligence lacking. If you look at that Golden Generation side, the reason him and Gerrard didn’t work is because Lampard just couldn’t play CM - he kept trying to play on top of the front men (as he did with Chelsea where it was one up top and him behind) and it left Gerrard isolated in the centre and overrun. Basic intelligence on positioning - other than in the specific role he played for his club - was lacking. That lack of intelligence has been carried forward into management - I’ve found his teams to be set up naively and without any real nouse, relying just on an individual doing well (as happened with Derby). Very good player in a specific system. Shockingly, no real nouse for the game outside of that. I'm inclined to agree with this. We need someone that can change things during games, not just stand there looking desperate on the sideline. As you say, he did well in a specific role, surrounded by great players. Deviate away from that and I'm not sure he's got it.

Cringey as they are, if you listen to the hostage videos unless we appointed Mary Berry this is about as far away from the description of the candidate they are after. More chance of it being Curtis Fleming & there is zero chance of him, either.

I can see it happening too although not because of new owners; I could see the current owners thinking that a big name would placate a lot of fans. Not how you should choose a manager/coach of course.

Curtis has his family home in the North East, is very close to Nige & is in my opinion only still in post because he was the most senior coach left to hold the reins until they appoint “their” man. I’ll be very surprised if he is still at the club next month. Love him, though.

Swede
It won't be Lamps as he is more media popular than his employers. They won't like that. Where would he get the motivation to upsticks and manage a 2nd tier perennially under achieving side in the footballing backwater that is the West Country? Loaned in Mason Mount & Tomori - champions league level players shortly after and ended up with the same result. Losing in the play-offs. Winston
I wouldn’t let Lampard manage a team on the downs, let alone a us. He needs to just pursue a tv pundit route and stay away from football management/coaching.
