Tough the walk out game at Fratton Park under Osman maybe beats it morale amongst fans had collapsed less than 500 travelled for a saturday and several hundred walked out at 0-0 well before half time. Released many many years of frustration, in my top three of best days ever at AG

Swede
Losing to Wolves at home 6.1 with David bloody Kelly. I remember some wag saying "if Mark Shail was in a marching band, he would be on the piano" it was that bad. Loads of games with tiny penis in charge, too numerous to mention and I don't want anybody to remind me of.

Some of the clowns like Dave Thompson, Julian Watts, Richard Dryden & Gus Caesar we had around that era weren’t remotely in his league.

Lost 4-0 and I think it was the first time we’d seen John Shaw’s hair was falling out. Also when someone stood near me threw a pork pie and it hit a policeman on the back of his helmet, I got the blame and was thrown out. Luckily as I was being escorted out pleading my innocence something else kicked off sending the cops elsewhere and I just walked back in. But yes, it would have been a good one to be ejected from, a lot, lot worse in skill and entertainment than the Millwall game.

Your thrown pork pie memory brought back a recollection of City 0 Cardiff 6 when throwing paper planes made out of Lansdown's grand promises of a great future ahead, was entertaining the crowd more than the match itself. Plus, we all joined the Taffs in singing "we want seven!"

Remember a 2-0 defeat at home to Scunthorpe really early in Terry Cooper’s time. Think that 7-1 Northampton defeat might well have been the previous game? Was stood with 2 mates and one of them got chucked out for doing something very similar. The game was so dire we were both envious.

They must have been to a couple of semis Yeh, but with all due respect - that FA Cup final wasn’t within 20 years of our epic top of the table duel with them - I listened to the ex Spurs and Watford keeper Gomes on the radio today and he said in his first season with Watford they had five different managers - they seem to change them for fun a couple of times a season - I know they’ve had their forays into the promised land but they are hardly a stable club in my opinion - but at least it’s never boring being a Hornets fan - us on the other hand ... Mallorcan Red
City 0-1 Swindon. 9th Sept 2000 The first match I attended since I moved to the city for work, prior to which I had grown up with Division 1 (old money) . I laughed all though it at how bad it was. Walked out at the end and narrowly missed a random swung punch from a drunken annoyed fan, which ended up hitting his mate and mayhem ensued. The most hilarious thing is 24 years later am still addicted to the endless rotation of the usual mediocrity. We buy and sell players, managers come and go, the owner is abused/lauded, we win some, lose some, draw some. And always still end up in the middle of Division 2 at the end of the season. And long may it continue....
