Milan Duric

I remember he was out injured for quite a while - several months Iirc. Had some kind of deep pelvic issue that was difficult to treat.

We didn’t get to see him at his best unfortunately

Djuric (don't forget the J) underwent surgery for a double hernia in March 2017, and groin in August and December 2017.

Suffice to say his time at City was painful.

PS Here's a picture of Milan scoring the winner against Ipswich in March 2018. You may recognise the Town defender (minus facial hair) failing to stop him!

You have a remarkable memory Mark! Is that Webster trying to stop him?

Sorry, I have to admit to cheating. Yes, that's Webster the season before he signed for City, was subsequently polished into a diamond, then sold for King's ransom.

George Elokobi I think you'll find

George will probably scream at the mere mention of Bristol City. He fractured his ankle during his debut of what was meant to be a 3-month loan spell. And he wasn't the only one. We seemed to make a habit of breaking loanees.

He suffered at the hands of referees. Think they would assume that because he was tall, he must have been fouling the defender every time he had to jump for a high ball.

Peter Crouch got the same treatment from referees, especially foreign ones.

I can still remember the sound that made, proper snap!

That’s not George Elokobl - wrong colour for a start

You are correct, Elokobi never donned the blue of Ipswich!

Can see why there was a mixup between Elokobi and Webster to be fair. Uncanny likeness....

Edit: Actually found one of Elokobi in a City kit. Wasn't many around!!

To be honest, his name doesn't have a j. It's Đurić. The line in the D makes it sound like Dz in English, which is why when it's written in Roman lettering rather than Cyrillic you sometimes get it rendered as Djuric.

Some players lucky (or favoured?), some not. For example, Kevin Davies and Lee Peacock were always penalised by refs whereas despite liberal use of elbows Chris Sutton and Alan Shearer were free to do what they liked.

Who was that East european....Russian?   A big unit Centre forward who was crocked on his debut for us, after signing on loan?  He lasted about 30 minutes.........  I can't remember his name?
