East End And Season Ticket Swaps

For those of you in the East End v QPR. Where there any police in the stand before kick off?

Nope. One steward... until it kicked off.

When the police/stewards finally did come into our end it all died down - which is why i was baffled when people were getting arrested, because it certainly was'nt voilent behavior unless they were violent towards fellow city fans??

What happened at the game could have been avoided if there were more stewards in that end.

police before kick off were escorting 80 QPR fans from the hole in the wall pub, redcliffe, these were known to be high category fans out for trouble, why did these officers not radio ahead to get correct number of stewards/police put in place, to have one or two stewards at this time was a recipe for disaster and what can only be termed gross negligence by the security and club.

spot on.

Going through the youtube vids on captue pretty much sums it up.

first picture bottom right hand corner is a qpr fan who started the goading

off and i have been made aware that he was arrested for knocking over a

steward when they eventually arrived, but thats the qpr side, on citys side

all i see is guesturing and singing at this fan and i don't see any stone island

nutters just cheeky kids in football shirts city fans showed good restraint considering

they had a free run at no mans land those going across the net i'm not sure were city

if the arrests were for swearing and when police turned up treated these fans as trouble.

also first picture bottom right hand corner clearly shows no line of police or stewards

between city and qpr sides

Have fans representatives made the club aware of these security errors for the QPR game, if not why?

Who was in charge of matchday policing and security for the QPR game?

Why do the club persistently claim there was a near full scale riot when this obviously was not the case?

Mistakes were made by people in positions of power and are clearly trying to shift that blame onto a few fans who were doing nothing more than shouting at each other.

Questions need to be answered!

They know already; every seat can be seen on camera; according to Sextone; total set up and grossly unfair :disapointed2se: they just cannot be bothered with it :disapointed2se:

The fans always pay, not anymore I don't, they want my money they sort it out; FAIRLY;

glos boy, you walk away and you play right into the clubs hands.

it is no secret they are trying to build a family club where there will be no need for police and very few stewards, there is an element the club would rather do without, no disrespect i am not saying you are a trouble causer but i think most people know what i am trying to get at.

The thing is, if people who like the east end and want to be in there turn their backs on the club they are doing actually what the club wants.

The club doesnt want fans who stand up, be noisy and say naughty words. Its too much hassle for them, they want 20000 familys to sit there in quiet buy a few bottles of a coke a few pasties watch the game and go home.

I don't have a problem with anyone that wishes to watch football in that way, which is how i find it hard how people don't wish the people in the east end to support the team in the way they wish.

The club needs to grow some balls and say they messed it up.

Yes

thanks TR, i hope the club reviews the new evidence, and issues an apology to all in the EE that day, also to review all ticket restrictions for future games, i.e. the WBA game when at this moment in time you cannot purchase a ticket for the EE.

Reading through this thread it is obvious that there were very serious flaws in Stewarding and Policing for what was a high profile game. I cannot see how the clubs actions are just when they have failed their own supporters in the East End on a safety level. These basic safety arrangements not being followed could have had very serious consequences.

In the circumstances fans exercised restraint which would have not been seen in previous decades and for that Bristol City fc should be thankful.

Well I better not do that then, frustrating though, don't do this, don't do that, sit down, shut up :disapointed2se: just a bit more understanding in this the last season of our E.E. from our club seems to much to ask for.

To be not allowed in there and having done nothing wrong is a right pain in the posteria though :gaah: :gaah: :gaah:

Thats the spirit, this may well be the last season of the EE as you and everyone else knows and remembers it, if so lets make sure it is remembered in the correct way, as a vocal point for all city fans.

It seems the club have made some mistakes in regards to the QPR game security wise, no problem we all make them from time to time, gain respect and hold their hands up, otherwise people will suspect there may have been a hidden agenda behind the lack of policing and segregation on that day.

Do you know if they are going to review it then mate, or admit that maybe it wassnt right?

1000 tickets minimum will be available/fence rattling/persistant standing/swearing/riots/arrests/police have said/to much hassle/health and safety/to much money to open/to much money to police/not worth it/incourages trouble makers/incourages standing/ incourages a atmosphere, oops made the last one up.

Give it back to all Steve, it aint going to be there much longer :dunno:

thatch red is on the case as we type, would like to think we would recieve some feed back from the club to try to put some sort of closure to this.

yours midland red.

The club are aware of all the issues.

The Police have the CCTV footage and will not release it due to pending prosections.

Having aired the issues, conversations should now concentrate on a positive resolution, which is workable for all.

I would like to think that the club will not see the police advice to restrict access on the back of one game as black & white, but take into account supporters requirements as well. If so, this might take a few days to do.

Fair dues.

The qpr game was a cock up but can be used to learn by, 5 arrests is too many but going by the youtube

vids it seems it was petty arrests based on police arriving late and going for just anyone in their way,

you tube vids show banter and great restraint by city fans who if they were serious thugs could have

got through that net no problem and all the trouble talk is blown out of proportion and if the case of

the 5 arrested prove guilty then it's a example to show you can't mess around (works both ways)

but the scunthorpe game showed it can be done well and should be used as a example but we should

not restrict people going in the stand becuse of a buck pass cock up vs qpr, the police knew what to

expect from qpr they escorted some naughty boys from the town center to ashton gate and had all the

time in the world to pass on the info lets not forget there was arrests in the dolman the same

game, i witnessed this.

genuine fans want to sit in the EE but can't due to the ticketing system,

some people work the odd saturday so did not get a season ticket but wish to

pay on the day but can't because of the ticketing system, dads, uncles etc with

season tickets can't take kids or relatives to the odd game and sit in the EE

where they really want to sit because of the ticketing system.

I'm fed up with the whole situation that is so easy to solve if everyone worked together

instead of being at logger heads all the time, But most of all i'm fed up with it always

being the fans fault.

Will any decision by the club also be accompanied by a thorough explanation of why so many safety issues have been highlighted?

This should not be blamed solely on a very small group of supporters as there were major failings on the clubs part. There should be free access for all as there surely would have been no problems minor or otherwise if the club or police had not changed what had been in place.

I like the latest piece on the official site where Gary Johnson is hoping the atmosphere in the next two homes games replicates that of the QPR game - well good to see even the manager is aware of what the problem is, and especially as he has referred to the fans in the East End's constant support SURELY the club would look to do anything possible to get things open again the that end !?!?

Burnley is supposed to be the flag day at ashton gate and the Eastend

How the hell can we do flyers and promote this flag day when you can't buy tickets for the eastend

and if they do decide to allow tickets it will be far too late to promote it as people will get tickets

else where in the ground first, if the EE is over flow you will get those late comers in there who don't

really want to be in the EE but are there becuse EE'ers have taken their seats first out of panic.

no online EE tickets.

Cannot comment on the arrests, but there were loads of police outside the ground but none in the E.E before 2.45 :disapointed2se:

I just cannot understand why all p.o.d fans in the E.E have to pay for a few arrests (wether for swearing or whatever) other stands p.o.dayers don't, this is pure victimization of law abiding fans (like me) who want just one last season in there.

Is it to late to get a season ticket ?although not the point, all law abiding fans SHOULD BE allowed in all stands. End of.

Last season's Championship play-off finalists West Bromwich Albion visit Ashton Gate Stadium on Tuesday night (September 18th, 7.45pm kick-off) for one of the most eagerly-anticipated games of the season.

And boss Gary Johnson wants YOU and your friends and family there to back his high-flying City side against the former Premiership big boys.

He says: "There are some great games coming up at Ashton Gate and hopefully our fans can recreate the kind of atmosphere they produced on the opening day of the season against QPR.

"The big games are what we all live for, whether it be players or supporters. The club is in a great position at the moment and we need your support, the players need your support."

The match is followed by a home fixture against Burnley on Saturday (22nd September, kick-off 3pm) when - by fans request - The Wurzels will be leading a party atmosphere on "flag day".

Remember, under-7s can watch these games FREE* and prices start at just £7 for under-16s* if tickets are bought in advance.

To purchase tickets click here , call 0871 222 66 66 or visit Ashton Gate in person.

* price applies to tickets bought for Block B of the Atyeo Stand and Blocks H-N of the Dolman Stand.
