I think he knew he couldn't carry on due to health issues. I recall in one of his last interviews he said he just needed a quick op and would be in and out of hospital in "48 hours". That was disingenuous, I believe, and he knew the situation was much more serious.

He spent a week in hospital having tests in Nov/Dec and we know that as of early Jan he still couldn't walk.

For a fact, he would have had to take more time off from the job to get treated. Whatever anyone says, that is a less than ideal situation for the club, and frankly not good for Nige.

He won't see it this way, but ultimately the club may have done him a favour so that he could fully concentrate on getting better.

Seems he's still not 100% fit so I've no idea how or why people think he'd have been able to see the full season out here.

Then the club should have been honest. It’s the lies that have pissed me off since he was sacked & was the clincher in me not renewing my season ticket. Always love the club but I detest Jon Lansdown & his old man’s attitude to us as fans (sorry customers) only qualification he has to run our club is being born with a silver spoon . He’s a bafoon

    My maths:

So of the possible 15 or 16 home Saturday 3pm k/os, plus opening day or final day, I reckon 7 or 8 could move (light blue box on right).  To when, I don’t know.

Now, if those 7 or 8 contain Swansea, Cardiff and Bears movements, it might not feel too bad.

The annoying thing is the lack of “explainer” by club / EFL.  Fans are buying season tickets with a big unknown.

For me it makes little difference, I quite like Friday night, or Saturday lunchtime, but for others (work, kids matches, etc) it could be a real deal breaker.

That’s it for me, the unknown . I sometimes struggle to make night matches due to work . If I’m going to miss 5-10 games then is it worth it financially ? Probably not . Might be worth getting a membership & picking & choosing games instead. It’s a dilemma 😏

Wish I could share that enthusiasm and am totally happy to be proven wrong. I’ve had enough of it now - things have become cyclical and for the first time, I’ve decided I won’t be renewing next season.

These performances have all come a little too late, which is easier when there is nothing to play for (other than contract renewal/being here next season). Will things change next season when the pressure is back on to make the top 6 - doubt it, but if we do, fair play!

I’m in total agreement with you. The heart strings are being tugged though with two days to renewal deadline. Next season would be 25 years as a season ticket holder . I bumped into a city fan I know yesterday & we were chatting about it. He agreed he’s also lost a bit of the love for it but said . It’s where we have a pint with our mates that we otherwise don’t see very often . If I’m honest I would have renewed by Tuesday but the new tv deal still pisses me off . A question for anyone .

23 home games. How many kick off times are going to be moved. Welsh clubs games are a given , so how many of the other 21 do people think ?
If it’s half of that I probably won’t renew because it won’t be worth it financially

I've heard the same. I also know people who've had the operation and had hamstring issues afterwards. Cycling makes it worse apparently.

Not that I was ever fast enough to pull my hamstring & it is common practice to use those fibres. When I had mine done they used some of the patella tendon which is in the kneecap . This was 20 years ago though . Do worry about the lads future in the game now.

But if a players goes up for a ball in the pen area with his arm in the air, and the ball hits it, then they should know, there is always a possibillity of the ref giving a pen. So it's their own fault if it happens. And before you argue, Owers said thats what he did.

Doesn’t make him right just because he’s a ex pro . Hes sliding in to block the cross it’s hit his arm from about 2 yards away. In situations like this you have to ask yourself if you’d be pissed off it’s that’s given against us , because I would

Yeah, didn't realise you've still got Huddersfield and Stoke to play, you're going to have a big say in this relegation battle.

Can't pretend I'm confident about the Stoke game but it's certainly a huge game for both sides.

Huddersfield v Birmingham in the penultimate game of the season, I feel pretty confident at least one of those two are going now.

    Birmingham hopefully
