I seem to remember him taking exception to Danny Wilson getting a good reception on his first return to AG. Always felt the bloke has a strangely inflated ego.

Found a nice home here after being a decent league 1 player . Far from a legend in my eyes . Brilliant left foot but had no pace & his right foot was for standing on . Good player in that Wilson era. Not much more than that though

King was singled out for praise and is clearly held in high regard by all the players and had a fantastic career. Closest we’ve got to a Pearson disciple although he will come with his own ideas.  King will get us playing with passion and pride as Manning has to go as sucked the energy from players and fans alike. I’d give him role as caretaker and reassess managers position in summer. Unlikely to happen but would be the best solution with 8 to go.

Nice idea but JL wants him gone. Remember he questioned Pearson picking him .

Am I alone in thinking I'm in the silent majority that are pretty fed up with the current situation, unhappy at how the Pearson situation was handled BUT completely willing to wait til next season to judge manning (where he WILL be judged from game 1 onwards)?

Theres a lot of noise about manning out etc but do most fans feel like me ?

Not looking to knock anyones opinion (2024 has been dreadful and masked from looking even worse by the FA cup), just sometimes the loudest voices portray a larger sentiment than the reality.

I get it , but tbh it’s a massive gamble . He seems to have no man management skills imo . The squad with the right manager needs tweaks . With manning it needs a massive overhaul. If 5 games into next season he gets sacked then it’s another new man with somebody else’s squad. Better to get someone in now to evaluate the players , get his playing style into them & sign where needed. Otherwise it’s another season lost.
    not that it will happen

Hands up those who think he will get it right next time, joker will prob put tinman in charge if he did dump Manning, which he wont.

Might be a flippant comment but I can see it happening . Manning sacked with say 4 games left .
brian will take over until the end of the season while we take time to get the next appointment right.
week before the season starts. Brian tinnion confirmed as permanent Bristol City boss. It’s a really crap joke but I can see it happening . 😂

a beaming Steve Lansdown said . I always knew Brian would come good & I took some flack for the trust me on tinnion statement but he’s the right man for the job. now a short statement from Brian .

I is gert mint I is & I deserves it . Southampton in it

He gave the reins to his son.  His son had no clue.  Ashton took advantage.

He was as you say desperate for his model to work.

And still has no clue . This is why I worry about what’s next . I just get a feeling SL JL & BT sat in a room having a beer laughing at us & not giving a flying ****

Definitely run it's course I agree.

Turning point for me was putting in so little of the Scott money, disengagement, that weird interview in Guernsey and sacking NP.

We may not get relegated but Bottom 6 would be my guess. A major step backwards.

Strange though . He gave the reins to mark Ashton , we all blame him for the financial mess but SL had to sign it all off . He was desperate for Johnson to succeed but it was built on sand. He had with Pearson a proper manager with a good solid reputation who sorted out yet another SL mess . He was the perfect manager to say . Ok nige , here’s  another three years contract . I trust you not to waste money. Build a squad .
    It’s just bizarre tbh what’s happened .

Good medium term but last time it went wrong we appointed NP.

We subsequently screwed ourselves by sacking him, losing Alexander and promoting Tinnion and Jon Lansdown but maybe it can still be salvaged.

I hope I’m wrong but I can’t see Lansdown changing now . He’s turned the club into a dictatorship . Reading @Davefevspost about PA ‘s sacking just confirms it. I genuinely think we’ll only progress with new owners now. It just seem that it’s run its course. NP’s sacking has , with manning coming in sucked the life out of the club. I’m convinced we’ll get relegated next season with the current set up.

Perhaps Steve Lansdown being at the game means changes are afoot.

I want manning gone . I’d like the lansdowns gone . What happens though if manning went. It’s not about who we’d want to take over . It’s about who would be willing to work under those clowns . We know their precious egos won’t allow anyone to come in that won’t  be a nodding dog . So that means taking another punt . I think we’re screwed tbh

I have him blocked but sadly still see his inane posts whenever someone replies to them.

Ignore him mate, he asks a question & when someone replies he then belittles it or says he doesn’t believe it anyway.

Absolutely futile engaging with someone like that.

I know & usually treat him as the village idiot 😂 however he makes a good point this time

Matt from 3 peeps called our fans out on voicing their displeasure on RB after the match.

I heard it . He nothing but a Lansdown apologist . Its cringeworthy. His mate though used to work for HL and won’t have a word said about him .

I'm saying that in my 40 years of supporting City, we've achieved zip - apart from the occasional bit of success in league one. I'd love for the club to be successful, but maybe it's time to lower our expectations

Well unfortunately for me it’s 50 years & I agree we’ve achieved nothing . But it’s all about mindset . We just coast as a club . Instead of accepting the mediocre , I’d like us as fans to really ramp up the pressure on the Lansdown’s to either shit or get off the pot .

Where did hear that Graham?     :dunno:

If he was approached and wasn’t interested I wonder if on the managerial grapevine that the Landowns have a reputation for having a poor understanding of how to run a football club?

    Just speculation of course.

No speculation about it. It’s bang on the money

    I'm just a realist

No it’s not being realistic . You’re basically saying . Oh we always lose at West Brom . They’re a team in the same league as us . Anyone can be beaten on any given day . It’s a lack of fortitude . We’ve had it for years. Naismith was brilliant after we lost at Leeds . He said (paraphrasing) We get back to 1-1 but there’s a lack of belief we can get anything . It’s like . Oh it’s ok we only lost 2-1 at Leeds . Pearson was changing that slowly. We got that soft underbelly back again . It angers me more than anything else about us . Weak willed , it’s ******* infuriating .

    If not manning then who?

It is a major problem . No manager with any decent body of work & experience is going to work under the lansdowns . Listening to Matt withers made my blood boil. Lansdown apologist , blinkered beyond belief .
