None of us are old enough to have witnessed it, but City's first ever game in the League was a 2-0 win away to Blackpool. That must have been impressive. I'll be happy with an identical result this Saturday.

In Peter Godsiff's history of City he states that Billy Wedlock and Len Southway were retained by City during WW1 to keep the club going. I read in today's paper the EFL have decided to give Derby another month to see if they can raise enough money to complete the season. On one hand the EFL are trying to preserve the solidarity of the League. On the other hand, one more month is one month nearer the end of the season, so not as much cash needs finding.

I visited Ipswich today and was told there's grumbling that the Summer's signings haven't been too successful and most will be moved on next Summer.
