I still yearn for "diddly diddly dee, diddly diddly dee" with James Alexander Gordon.

ITV 4 at 10.30am; The Big Match from February 1981 featuring FA Cup 5th round action Nottm Forest v Bristol City.

Barrow's 2nd goal; Town had a defender at near and far posts, but no one else near. That left a Barrow player unmarked near the pen spot to hit that 2nd goal. Surprised to see the barrow goalie and the ref wearing near identical coloured shirts. Thought there was a rule about distinctive kit?

Which player has the record for scoring in consecutive games?

Peter Spiring- five goals in consecutive League Games in 1971(?) No one managed that in the '55 or '65 promotion seasons. -
On page five of their thread some feel a draw was a good point and a fair result. However on page six; https://www.not606.com/threads/hull-city-v-bristol-city.397587/page-6 I honestly don't see where the love for Pearson comes from on here. The man's an utter **** who's very lucky to be in a job at all. He can **** off to **** off land. The **** him

Anyone ever met one from somewhere else?

Which route you taking; Northwards M5, M6, then East on the M62, or are you being taken cross country?

The Hull fans sound positive ahead of Saturday's game: https://www.not606.com/threads/hull-city-v-bristol-city.397587/

Other side of town I'm afraid; 1969(?) Rovers scored after 30 seconds v Orient and that was the only goal of the game. Presumably "Grab an early goal and then park the bus".

IMO if the commentator had not mentioned anything, none of us may have noticed any bad language.

My favourite memory? For the game at Ipswich, they took the lead and in the second half goal keeper Sinclair was beaten by another shot, but Aizlewood charged through the area, leapt acrobatically and palmed the ball over the bar! Thompson hit the resultant penalty high and wide of the goal. MA was not sent off for that deliberate handball.

OK so Yeovil have joined us. Elsewhere Paul Cook won't have to make that midweek journey to barrow & back.

OK we've lost Exeter & Cheltenham and we're waiting on Plymouth (Sunday lunch time ko) & Yeovil (5.30 today ko). Rovers & Swindon are definitely joining City in Round 3. Not a local team but Ipswich 0 - Barrow 0 means ITFC fans will be leaving Barrow about 10.00pm on Tuesday night for a trip back to Suffolk. I don't envy them that.

Derby County at home match-day thread

They ain't happy; https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/38769-bristol-city-a-matchday-thread/page/14/#comments As always after a City win, the opponents reckon they were unlucky or had an off day. -

10 pts less we'd be in the bottom tree. Ten points more we'd be in the play off places. NP told us mid table this season and we're getting it. -
That Bournemouth goal at the start of the 2nd half; do City even try that sort of move in training (or even their dreams)?

https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/38769-bristol-city-a-matchday-thread/ I think I want us to beat these more than I would if we were playing Notts. Nah, not quite but they’re not far behind. If it wasn’t for the points deduction, we’d only be a point behind them so I reckon they’re beatable but I suppose it’ll be a draw. Hope our old boys don’t spoil the day Brizzle fans don't appear to be looking forward to this. They are pretty despondent with how the team are playing and seem to be losing faith in Pearson. I think therefore the game is there for the taking IF we attack them from the off and manage to get our noses in front. My proviso is whether morale has taken another knock this week and whether Rooney and Co can get them on the front foot and believing again. If they can, I fancy us to to get the 3 points, but it's a place where we've come a cropper in the past so I'm not making a formal prediction. -
Going back forty years, having seen Derby win 2-0 in November, did any attend the cup game eight weeks later expecting anything other than a defeat?

True Rovers' form then; have an opponent sent off.
