Well yes and it's pretty much what my post said, it doesn't matter who you support, c****s are c***s. I was pointing out however, that despite all the accusations thrown at Rovers regarding 1982, some of your own fans own behaviour was despicable.

Yes, fair enough, I see the point you were making now.

Some of whom no  doubt, still watch City and applaud the buy into the reinvented myth of the Ashton Gate 8, conveniently forgetting that they issued death threats to several genuine City legends.

You don't have to be a Rovers fan , a City fan or whatever to be a ****. This thread has been known to push the boundaries of pisstake , lets not forget just how despicably some of your own fans behaved in 1982.

Ok, we’re aware of all this.

Would Gasheads have been any different under the circumstances?

Living local to the Mem, I can assure you that 'most Gas live local' isn't true.

You see more kids wearing City shirts walking around Gloucester Road than you do kids in Fewer shirts.

Having also lived near the Mem I agree, it was great to see other City fans on Gainsborough Square waiting for the bus to the Gate and I never saw too many Gas shirts around.

When I said ‘local’ though I meant Bristol in general, ie they didn’t have to drive up the Motorway or worry about the last train south being cancelled due to weather related issues.

I will give credit to the fans that went last night given the conditions (and Exeter seemed to bring a fair few).

But for "the best fans in bristol" to get sub 7k is absolutely laughable. The cowshed was meant to bring fans not turn them away.

Give credit to the Exeter fans, absolutely…but most of the Gas live local.

I’ll wait until officially announced before laughing but if that’s the true figures it’s pathetic from a club who bang on and on about their supposedly huge, loyal fanbase.

Its ok though, I’m sure Oxford will fill their new stand for them.

What was the gate for WHU, do we lose c1500 seats due to the Atyeo netting,?

Either way, I was making the point that our average gates would fill their expanded shithole twice over.

I think it was 25,500 for WHU, it’ll be similar for Forest. Football attendances are affected by segregation so even against Man Utd and Man City we didn’t have 27k…but all tickets were sold out…you can’t sell more than the number allowed. So yes, we can ‘fill’ Ashton Gate.

  6. 6 minutes ago, Natchfever said:

    Correct

It’s not correct….2 sell outs in 11 days with 23k+ for Watford in between (no excuses from our fans about lots of home games in the same month). 👍

We seem to sell out our decent sized stadium more often than they sell out their crappy little ground.

Someone might want to educate this one...

"The Teds have a much better ground, play in the championship... but guess what, they can't fill Trashton either."

    Ok, I’ll do it…

Sold out Ashton Gate twice in 11 days with a 23k+ crowd in the middle.

Its like Sagheads enjoy looking stupid. 🤣

Interesting to know how they measure the crowd for a test event. The weather forecast is very grim tonight and might put off some of their faithful from going. Do they measure tickets sold or actual people through the gates?

They’re talking about giving Oxford more blocks on Saturday just so they can fill the stand….the stand THEY said they needed to accommodate THEIR ‘huge’ fanbase 🤣

    The gift.

They've had to slash prices for tomorrow too in order to meet the 75% requirement for a test event...

    Incredible 🤣

No wonder their new owners don’t want to spend money on a proper stadium if they’re having to slash prices just to fill 75% of their brand new stand. By this time tomorrow night Wally might have to walk up Filton Ave knocking on doors asking for volunteers.

Potential new excuse as well, they’ve used rain before but now…

Edit: DOUBLE new excuse klaxon! 🚨📯

    1) Windy

    2) There are other home games coming up.

    8,013. 😆

    Less than 8k slags.

So let me get this straight….

They’ve now got the higher capacity that their fans have been saying they’ve needed desperately for years to accommodate their ‘massive’ ‘loyal’ support and their attendance has gone DOWN? 🤣

    Idiots.

This is insane, as is the photo. If it is the same person it’s odd because I’m sure he got criticism before, so is he doing this to own the lefties if so?

He got a shitload of criticism from all angles, which isn’t surprising considering he posted the picture of himself wearing a Rovers top holding a Rovers flag next to the Auschwitz sign on Twitter with the caption “Auschwitz Gas”. This however appears to be a different person.

I don’t know what goes through some peoples heads to be honest?

I thought that's why there was many mentions of 'Ted' but I thought they couldn't be that sad surely..

    Yeah they could.

Dont forget they were in the same division a few years ago, which meant they were visited by the needy bastards who no doubt spent hours before the game telling them how evil us ‘teds’ are (use of the term ‘teds’ being the giveaway).

Its utterly pathetic but it’s what they do.

  13. How much did losing their bottle cost them last night then?

Obviously not just the chance to flood social media with claims that taking 9k away is just ‘what they do’  but financially….a televised match at Anfield must have been worth a few quid?

A&S Police obviously don't see it as a risk anymore

This seemed to start when they got relegated to non league. Suddenly us and them playing at home (or even if they were playing the Pied Horse or some other Bristol pub away) it didn’t matter. Police just thought “ahh it’ll be ok, concentrate most of our resources on the proper club and send a couple of bobbies to the Netham to look after the Gas”.

Just trawling gaschat to see the heartbreak. How tinpot must you be to call on the “Spirit of Oxford” to win a game?

    IMG_2297.jpeg

I did have a look earlier after they went 1 up to see that they were talking about us whilst their game was being played and they were winning.

    ******* weirdos.

Obviously I’m gutted to come back an hour an a half later to find out that they’ve ballsed it all up as per usual 🤣

    Just stayed over to Gaschat....

I am staggered at the confidence of their fanbase as to how their game against a Championship side is likely to go. Granted there are a few realists, but most of them seem to have this as some sort of formality.

Obviously, no idea how the game will go, what sort of sides either club will put out, but the Fewers seem convinced that this game doesn't mean much to Norwich.

How they've arrived at that conclusion is still something of a mystery.

Norwich are 2 points off the play offs in the Championship, the prize of winning tonight’s game is a trip to a ground they already visit every few years where they normally get beat.

I think anyone expecting Norwich to bust a gut tonight in an effort to clog up their own fixture list after they’ve got themselves back into Championship PO contention is going to be very disappointed.

This has got ‘upset’ written all over it, if Rovers don’t go through I’ll eat my own nuts.

15 points off the play off places..

    No problem.

Once the 15 point gap has been reached they automatically become ‘Promotion hopeful Bristol Rovers’.

Once they’re back within 15 points they can return to ‘chasing’ with a large dollop of “something speshul is happening ere”.

Maybe we have just been included on the back of last night’s result, but interesting that ahead of Saturday’s game against Watford, the two clubs are the only non-Premier League ones amongst those highlighted. And strangely no mention of Bournemouth!

Quite surprised by a couple of those. Thought Fulham and Crystal Palace had won something but clearly not.
