  1. You can't throw those out, they are priceless. I used to play Sunday morning pub football with an old striker who told me stories of all the goals he scored in local football when he was younger. I took it with a pinch of salt, until I refloored my loft and found old Evening Posts from the 1980s. Nearly every one mentioned the guy banging in goals for various local teams ?
  2. Future generations won't have this, the old newspapers found in obscure places, a treasure trove of past memories.
  3. And want to know how our rivals, future opponents etc are getting on. Much as I love City, I struggle to understand why somebody would only watch City and no other football at all. If he's taking the dog for a walk in the park, he must have to shut his eyes if there is a pub game going on. ?
  4. That is a shame, it is a good programme. They are obviously concerned the Premier League doesn't get enough exposure!
  5. Are we though? Our ground holds 26000 (for football with segregation). The away end is 3500 + and we already average 21000. So actually we are trying to attract fans already in our supporters pool of tens of thousands to attend more often. I'm not convinced Luton v Burnley 3pm on sky will leave people with a decision to make.
  6. Why was Joey Barton invited?
  7. I don't think this would be a factor unless it was Man Utd v Man City in a title decider and the City game was a dead rubber. City fans are City fans, nothing being shown in the Prem would divert me from going to Ashton Gate. It is pretty easy to watch live Prem games at 3pm on a Saturday now anyway and yet our attendances are the highest they have been since 79-80.
  8. Pearson has left Atkinson out on numerous occasions.
  9. I thought so, this has happened to us before for certain and we've cancelled. How about Inter Milan at Ashton as part of the £50m deal for them to have Alex Scott ?
  10. Previous experience, I cannot recall a time when we have drawn a team in a cup competition and not then cancelled our pre season fixture against them. I would be amazed if this fixture is not changed in the next few days.
  11. No it's not, we still can't stand them!
  12. That is awful if true, there was no place for those type of songs in the 1980s and there is certainly no place for those songs in 2023.
  13. 'Somerset Saints' how annoying, why don't they b*gger off back to Hampshire, Somerset is ours.
  14. That is awful, really like the Gloucestershire one day shirts. Yellow with black detail and black with yellow detail. Made by New Balance.
  15. When he last took Kilmarnock to Ibrox he was the victim of Sectarian abuse from sections of the Rangers fans. You can imagine that some players/managers don't want the extra heat that goes with Old Firm employment.
  16. Did an unbelievable job with Kilmarnock. I think he led them to their best league finish for 40+ years.
  17. Derby reporter said his best position is centre back, then left back and finally left wing back. They said he is a far better defender than he is an attacking option.
  18. Interesting, tucked away at the bottom of the article, Luton fans protesting about a proposed move 27 miles away to play at Milton Keynes.
  19. yes, £9.99 per wasp or 10 for £95
  20. He'll never amount to much, we'd be better giving him a 'free' in the summer and concentrate on bringing back Diony.
  21. And how many of them are 'Dutch housewives' ?
