  1. I was at that match, very sad that testimonial matches disappeared as interest waned, despite players not earning big money back then. Nowadays people quite rightly wouldn't attend, as players earn many times what the average person earns.
  2. Of course, and if they achieve 3rd place they would be above Hearts. It will be interesting to see how the increased chances of European football (and increased revenue) for teams as low as 4th and 5th affects smaller leagues like Scotland. At present Celtic and Rangers are financially streets ahead of the rest, followed by the 'City' clubs of Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen. In theory, the European Conference League etc should allow for Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen to pull further away from the next rung of clubs (Dundee, Dundee Utd, Motherwell, St Mirren etc).
  3. Actually don't mind it, every club who wear predominately blue should be forced to have some red on the kit ?
  4. Fox shit covered field aka 'Premier League ready training complex'
  5. I agree Harry, most Hibs fans would have accepted 5th this season. However, the pressure will be on next season to improve (3rd or 4th the target). 3rd guarantees group stage European football and 4th means you are in at the later qualifying stages. There will also be an expectation that Hibs make a domestic semi final as a minimum. Johnno won't be expected to challenge the Old Firm, but there will be an expectation that he will challenge Hearts and Aberdeen for the best of the rest.
  6. Feisty derby match this afternoon, at the final whistle Johnson seemed to get involved with the Hearts bench and it resulted in a 20 man scrummage on the centre circle. Not a good look and I'd imagine a charge may be coming his way.
  7. any pic? we can then decide ?
  8. RIP Bob, watching next season from the best seats.
  9. Pop back on here after we've been beaten 3-0 at home by Rotherham on the opening day! ? In all seriousness though, I feel the club is very United now, with a good squad that will get better and a very good manager. I fully expect us to be in and around 6th spot next season.
  10. No but I have the entire St Mirren team 3 x over ?
  11. It could be outside the Mem, it does have fans pictured sitting on deck chairs and hedges!
  12. whoosh - I didn't really think that Bayern had won 29 of the 30!!!
  13. Unlike German football where Bayern have only won 29 of the last 30 titles ?
  14. Gary Johnson gave me my Bristol City back. We'd had some tough, lean years and Johnson literally put the bounce back into the ground. He also made City feel 'big time' again. People were talking about us, crowds were growing and I remember the away support being particularly large and noisy at that time.
  15. Spot on, just in my extended family I have an Uncle in his 60s who supports City and has Leeds as his second team, a brother in law in his 40s who supports Liverpool and has the Gas as his second team and 2 brothers (40s and 30s) who support City but have Man Utd as their second team.
  16. Nobody has mentioned the brilliant idea of giving a City shirt away with junior season tickets. I have three kids and watching them train and play in what was regarded traditional Gas territory, I'm always pleasantly surprised by the number of City shirts I see. The free shirts have made a great difference and you see far more City shirts than you do Rovers, Man Utd, Liverpool, Barca, PSG etc.
  17. But Wycombe got two promotions with O'Neills, so that must mean we will get to the Premier League and as we can't have another promotion it must mean Champions League football ?
  18. Can't blame him after seeing the new stand they are constructing....Champions League ready ?
  19. I really hope I am wrong, but from what I saw when he played against Lincoln and then what the Walsall fans seem to be saying, it looks like a step down to the National League is on the cards.
  20. Can't argue with you, as I've not been to every game at Home Park v City since 1984, but I've been to quite a few and those games we've always had upwards of 1500.
  21. In all seriousness though, those deluded t*ats really believe they have a bigger away support than us. I've been to Plymouth many times over the years, midweek, weekend, City flying high, City struggling etc and we've never had less than 1500 down there. 480 is absolute dogsh*t.
  22. 'Come in a taxi, you must have come in a taxi'
  23. I thought Plymouth would have won that.
