  1. Just read Bristol  Post ratings for yesterday and it says pretty much everyone played well. Even handed out an 8 to Pring. I only listened to the match on the radio but are the marks generous? If not, how did we end up losing?

  2. Hilarious that many of the fans that were desperate for us to land Pearson are now calling for his head after he has had only one transfer window and 8 months in charge! Today as well as missing Pearson, we were without Baker, Atkinson, Semenyo, King and James. As for telling Lansdown to **** off, that is embarrassing. Blackburn is a huge game and I expect a changed City team to take the three points COYR

  3. Can I just say, if I ever get into the shape of the Bristol rugby lads, please feel free to film me with my top off and put it on twitter. Male or female you are welcome to put 'sweating emojis'. As it is, if I took my top off now I think I'd look similar to Peter Beadle!

I hope your kids are OK. My daughter has just got back to city after the Swansea nonsense 2 years ago. She has always had anxiety but these things can scar young people

Fine thanks for asking, they didn't see much of it and I got them away sharpish. They haven't mentioned it today and it won't put them off the footy. Although the last 2 minutes of the game nearly put me off the footy! ?

  5. I was trying to get my two young kids back to the car so was only glancing over, but it appeared a group of 6-8 Forest fans hit a City fan and then when 2 other City fans tried to intervene they were laid out on the road. It was a good half hour after the full time whistle but I did see a police van approaching. Hope the City fans are OK and left a sour taste after what was already a very painful evening.

No wonder Chelsea fans didn't turn up in their numbers at the Mem tonight. There is no way the Chelsea Headhunters are going to risk mixing it with the Rovers firm. They'd probably carry razors if any of them had started shaving yet!

?”Less likely”, you’re comparing averages. Humans don’t experience averages, they have individual experiences.

White men will feature high in stats in suicide, work place deaths and serious injury, homelessness, be victims of “positive”() discrimination, more likely to move for work, more likely to be denied access to their children, more likely to lose their home during divorce, more likely to be stopped and searched by the police.

Another question (indulge me), is stop and search racist?

Luke, you are correct in identifying the difficulties faced by many white, working class men, but please don't tell me you really believe it is easier to be born a black man in the UK in 2021 than it is a white man? If you do, we'll just have to agree to disagree as I find that belief to be staggeringly inaccurate.

How many white males have privilege?

All of them, by being born white in the UK you have an unearned advantage over black people. Of course you have to factor in class as well, a middle class black man (rare, but they exist) will have some advantages not enjoyed by a working class white man. However, the white man isn't going to be called a n******, is less likely to be pulled over by the police, followed by shop security, turned down for a job etc etc

    nothing comes close ……

It really is a case of close the thread. i guess the only other game that you could make an argument for is the 1-0 defeat to Man Utd in 1909. If we'd won that game, we'd now proudly have a major honour.

  10. Groups with privilege, like many white males, will feel threatened and defensive when that privilege is challenged. Realistically, we all know that racism and sexism will continue to exist in British society whilst even the youngest on this forum live. However, for SOME not ALL white males, BLM feels like a threat and a challenge to their 'top dog' status that they are not ready to relinquish. That is before we start on classism. Surely everyone on this forum can agree that life is a hell of a lot easier for a white, middle class male than it is for a black, working class woman for example.

The referee was dreadful throughout the game (note this is not to justify the behaviour, nor the defeat, Paulton were superb going forward and a particular mention to their 10 who not only gave Manor Farm's defence a torrid time, but also spent a good chunk of the game defending in his own penalty area. The better team on the day won without question). But the referees performance was to the point where one would think he had been club appointed, and even Paulton players were commenting on how bad he was after the game.

After Farm had a player sent of (a rare correct decision, though the original booking was the player reacting to an appalling decision, the second yellow was a nailed on one and a silly tackle to make when already booked) frustrations were rising on the Farm bench.

Lashenko (Farm manager) got booked, or spoken to by the ref late on (do managers get booked? Or just spoken to before getting sent off)

After the game they had the post match handshake just to the right of the goal this was filmed from, everything seemed OK at that point.

Then something clearly got said by either the referee or linesman, because Lashenko completely lost it and turned, going for the ref, calling him a liar amongst other things (you can hear this at 12-13 seconds in).

He was initially pulled away by some players and then tried to have a second go, which is the part that's been filmed.

You can also hear one of the people who went to the game say "he was walking away from you".

I fully understood why he was frustrated, but his behaviour there isn't acceptable at all and he will rightly get a fine, match ban or both.

Lashenko is a big Gashead is he not?

Perhaps it was Ken Bailey and his Union Jack ! :laughcont:

    Steve Galliers debut IIRC ?

The OS says over 18 000 tickets have been sold so far so thats not too many home fans.

Still 9 days until the fixture, that is very good ticket sales for a team that haven't won at home since Jesus was on the cross!

Since coming out of lockdown it seems crowds are down all over the country.

I think it's going to be a while before we get back to the mid to low 20's.

The slowly improving performances are helping.

Crowds are down all over the country, although I disagree it will take a while to hit low 20s, I think there will be 21,000 ish for the Bournemouth match.
