'He's gay, he's bent, he's ass is up for rent, he's Holloway, he's Holloway *'
* = or whoever the hate figure was at the time.
Homophobia was rife in football grounds in the past, another was 'you bent b*stard, you bent b*stard' sung repeatedly to anyone with a perm, tan, or in anyway cared for their appearance

It will be all about Barton's management, if he gets willing runners around Pitman and players to provide the service then Brett will deliver. If he expects Pitman to put in a shift or do it for himself up front, it will end in tears.

Gasheads talking about boycotting matches while he is in charge, one posted 'there could be a very low attendance for the first home game'. Serious point, would anyone notice if that was a boycott or their usual crowd?

Probably means Ramirez is half decent as well. He is a signing from the MLS and has good pedigree. Hibs won 3-0 as well, a good night for the Scots in Europe.

I don't want him to be sent down, he's doing far too good a job at the Rovers

“I’m absolutely certain we can deliver, and get the rovers fans right behind this football club and right behind this team, and proud walking around this city with their chest puffed out and their quarters on”
Oh yes, they sure would be prowed
Keep chests covered up, you never know who might be playing a game of boob cricket!

'If you look at what we did at Fleetwood with an average attendance of 2,000-3,000, imagine what we can do if we’re getting 12,000 in the Mem.'
whos gonna tell him?
Dear Mr Barton
I am very sorry to inform you that Bristol Rovers have not averaged gates of over 10000 for 40 years. If you have been misled, that is because they are liars.
P.s if they tell you a number that they took to Wembley, it is good practice to knock 15000 off that number.

Not trying , you’ve succeeded . It was a joke mate
I'm getting sensitive about anybody trying to suggest we are anywhere near to being as bad as them. Could you imagine what the Rovers fans would be like if they were above us for 20 seasons (or even 20 mins ), trust me there wouldn't be any comments like Bristol football is embarrassing or we're both lower league clubs, they would absolutely revel in it.

Normality will be resumed next season . Gas in the 4th division , city in the 3rd
Not trying to be pedantic, but Rovers have not spent many seasons in their history in the 4th tier. Rovers average placing is middle of the third tier. City's average placing is bottom third of the second tier.

#Bristolfootballisanembarrassment
Hate these type of statements/reactions as it plays into the Gas hands. Lumps City (1 point off 7th in the championship) in the same boat as Rovers (heading for the fourth tier). 20 years since they've been above is in the league, don't mention them in the same breath as us.

On a different note, I listened to some of Radio Bristol's Gas programme on the way home from work, priceless comedy. The Director of football was claiming that 4 left backs and no strikers is not poor recruitment. He went on to point out that two of the left backs can actually play left wing back! He also criticised Tisdale for saying the squad was unbalanced. That seems like a marriage made in heaven..not.

The ultimate for me would have been the morning after Donowa. 1991. Last year at school and we hadn't beaten them in nearly 5 years...coinciding with my secondary school years.....in terms of derbies it was a terrible period to be a City Fan.....strange to think they held the whip hand for that long
I was at secondary school in then fairly solid blue Hanham (thankfully no longer the case) from 86-91 and it was hellish. The Gary Smart winner was a particular low point. We battered them and then he hits a wonder goal out of nothing. It really was a painful period and even promotion to the second tier came after being thrashed at Trumpton and second to them. I never moan nowadays, after going through that spell and the 4th division years, to be second tier and light years ahead of the gas for over 20 years is pure heaven to me.

Foundations laid but Ben Garner's results were just not good enough for Bristol Rovers
That's a first. Normally they make do with some firm ground and some metal pegs.
If losing 4 goals at home to the second largest club in the Blackpool region is the foundations, I'd hate to see the house

Are Chelsea good or are we terrible?
I think the top teams (3 or 4) are spending a fortune now compared with a few seasons ago. There could be a danger of the WSL becoming like the Scots Premier, where there are some big thrashings as the budgets are hugely different from the top and bottom of the league.

Also the point of the interview was to talk about getting kits of teams the Sags have played yet he is wearing a Sampdoria shirt. Have they played them?
Maybe one of their Champions League ties a few years back

So its alright for thousands of people to sit on Bournemouth beach and wander around the town at will. 100's mingling in town centres shopping and from September 30 kids plus a few adults compressed in small classrooms (indoors !!) but sports fans cant be trusted to act responsibly inside a stadium.
Sorry but from someone who strictly adheres to social distancing I think it is more mixed messages from Government.
I would quite happily return to watch live football if every second seat is left unoccupied, concession stands and toilets closed (so no queueing).
Under the above guidelines I wont be attending if I have to turn up 3 hrs before...especially after a 2 hour journey to get to the ground in the first place.
If there was a Saturday and Tuesday home match you'd be better sleeping in the concourse
-
I think toilets would be closed at half time to avoid lots of people in there, they'd be open during the 90 mins.
