  1. There were some good decisive pieces of defending, which I applauded and gave him credit for, but it's the same mistakes all the time that he's making. He needs to take far fewer risks with the ball. The reason it's being focused on is because the mistakes that he does make tend to occur in an area of the pitch that puts us in trouble. I also don't think the Vyner references are irrelevant. They have no impact on Naismiths mistakes, true, but the situation is very similar and therefore comparisons are completely relevant. Vyner, prior to this season, would make the same mistake over and over again and it gets costly. The same thing is happening with Naismith. And it's still true that as soon as Vyner makes a mistake the crowd are quick to jump on him, irrespective of the fact that he's turned it round massively. That hasn't been the same with Naismith who, at his age, really shouldn't be making the mistakes he makes. The issue we have is that we have no opportunity to take him out of the spotlight at the moment such is the lack of real options with Klose and Kalas out.
  2. Sadly I think Naismith had his best half for us after half time today. At times in the first half he was so bad that Coventry were playing through balls to him. If the mistakes he makes were made by Zak Vyner the place would be toxic.
  3. I'm sure we'd be interested in signing Ronaldo and Messi to spearhead our drive to the Prem. About the same likelihood of the interest going both ways though! Gregor MacGregorface must be getting paid by the click.....
  4. I think we just need to be a little more patient than we thought with Wilson. A two division jump isn't something that everyone can adapt to immediately, so it could be case of him getting up to speed. Another change instead of Massengo coming in would be to put Tanner in and move Sykes to his natural position in the middle of the park. Strengthen the defensive position whilst not overly compromising the midfield. Sykes' adjustment to Championship football, especially into a foreign position for him has earned him the right to keep his place after one poor game.
  5. Accessing the match changed for some bizarre reason to the extent that there is no way my 93 year old grandfather will be able to work it out. Not sure why they took away the extremely clear selection of boxes to show the matches and replaced it with a tiny info button at the bottom that you then need to try and work through with a magnifying glass. Why is it that supposed service improvements are rarely thus?
  6. Thanks Dave. I get where you're coming from. As always it's the application of the law that's inconsistent (see previous suggestions regarding fouls on the edge of the box). One thing most of us could probably agree though, is that if that was Bentley and not Dieng on Saturday then Max would be preparing for a match tomorrow!
  7. I wasn't suggesting you did post an apology. But as a club we've probably got a filing cabinet full of those we've received from the PGMOL.
  8. Well the standard of apologies for shit refereeing is of a higher standard I guess. For my money, the standard of refereeing is worse than I've ever seen it.....and I include the Lester Shapter, Vic Callow and Gurnam Singh era in that! This is key for me and comes down to consistency. If instead of the keeper catching the ball he brings Nakhi down with part of his foot on the line there's not a chance in hell he's giving anything other than a free kick on the edge of the area. I've read the link a couple of times Dave, and I honestly don't see where it's saying slightly on the line is considered inside the area (though it's not 9am yet and I'm only 1 coffee into the day so may have missed it!). @Hinsleburg makes a very valid call and it comes down to consistency of application for the rules. Just to muddy the waters a little more I guess, the line is 5 inches thick, so where is the point that the 18 yard box starts and ends. Is the nearest part of the line 18 yards from the goal, or the outer part of the line? Edit: I realise that last point is extremely pedantic, but when it comes down to goal line technology the pedantry comes down to millimetres, so I'm being very generous I feel!
  9. From my position in S20 it looked clear cut that it was a handball.Assuming the ball was partially on the line, though I've not seen a photo with a conclusive angle as yet, what makes this in the area as opposed to outside? Goal line technology dictates the ball isn't IN the goal unless it is fully over. Therefore isn't the same logic then that the ball isn't IN the area unless it's fully over. Especially so when considering the direction of travel of the Ball. It was heading into the area rather than outside. On a similar note, if the goalkeepers hands were outside the area when they caught the ball does that change the situation? It's not a situation that crops up often, but either way, for once the finger of blame cannot be aimed at the linesman as the referee probably had the better view.
  10. Club have also warned that with the carriageway down to one lane that the buses they lay on can't be guaranteed to get to the ground in time for kick-off.... Add to that QPR fans who are also now having to drive with the trains off. It's like a perfect storm. Home match, roadworks and rail strike. I've already changed my plans and will now be dropped to the match rather drive. Parking will be an even bigger nightmare.
  11. We really should be generating a lot more renewable energy than the likes of Germany or Poland given that they have one coastline and we're a bloody island. Offshore wind should be used on all sides of the UK - it's a no-brainer. But we won't get there with this mob in power... And while idiots keep voting them in we'll be waiting for a long time yet. As has always been the case the biggest threat to humanity is humanity itself.
  12. It seems that this is what is being considered. You would imagine the attendance hit would eat into some of the savings. Kids would miss out on home matches due to school and anyone who can't get time off will be missing as well. I'd imagine it would have an impact on season ticket sales.
  13. I'd imagine it doesn't cost much for him, but then this is the standard of floodlight they have, not to mention solar panels which will take some of the cost down. Clubs with grounds more suited to league football I'm sure would cost an awful lot more.
  14. This could be the right move for Rosenior if he wants it. Won 7 out of 12 and still didn't get given the Derby job. That's a cracking record for a club that was in free-fall. Less pressure to succeed and if they do go down but if they then keep him it gives him a good opportunity to get a promotion on his CV. They've a division 2.5 club for a number of years now. Not quite good enough for the Championship but too good for league one. A lot will depend on where Rotherham see themselves in the footballing pyramid.
  15. Unlikely. The CSL has gone through a massive financial crisis - the big money isn't there in that league anymore. Reminiscent of here, but the other way, when LJ was having his first poor spell and it was Pembo who got the boot instead. Though in fairness for a while that worked...before tanking massively.
  16. It's not often posters deserve their own song, but as he calls himself Logical City and his entire approach was anything but Logical, well it had to be done.... A little work to get some lines to scan, but I was bored, so have an earworm....and my apologies for the 30 seconds of your life you're not getting back! When Brum tix went on sale I thought it was wonderful I'll buy me one, oh, I'll wait a bit, not just yet And all the fans on the net, well they'd be buying so happily Oh wait for me, I won't buy one yet, can't you see? But then they all sold out quick, it seemed I wasn't so sensible Logical, oh, responsible, practical So I went on One Team and moaned about how they all sold out I blew my chance, oh everything I moaned about......
  17. Sacked? If we have taken anyone on board who would even suggest it then I'll be pushing for the club to be disbanded due to poor judgement!
  18. I may well have missed this, but have they been announced as yet? Usually it includes cashback on purchasers by way of points to spend in the store etc, but I've not seen anything yet. The shop were saying at the start of the season that money will go on if that's what's announced, and will backdate.... Am I just being blind or is this yet to be announced still?
  19. Some of the commentary was great in the first few minutes. "He's their dangerman - he's 6ft 1 and 13st. And Young is Manchester Citys biggest player at over 6ft...."(words to that effect), followed by "And all the Manchester City forwards have their shirts outside their pants"! Will watch the full video later, so thanks for sharing Slart
  20. But surely the popular fixtures are the ones that those that go to many away games deserve the opportunity to get tickets for? This isn't the 90's anymore . Most things are done online now and most people know someone that could help them out. I'm still unsure what your argument is? I went to 2 away games last season and the Cov game this. I don't think I would get any priority with a record like that, but was able to book up easily. You're swapping those that can only get them online with those that can get to the ground on a working day...? You're on here, so you're clearly not one of the IT illiterate you refer to, so I'm confused as to why you have an issue? With the greatest of respect, Logical, your argument is illogical.
  21. What on earth are you talking about? Referees have been very consistent in not awarding us a penalty!
  22. Disappointing lack of bins contained in that collection there....
