Wenger hails hot prospect Emmanuel-Thomas - Independent.ie
The Arsenal manager believes the teenager from Forest Gate - who started out as a centre-back - has it all, and with the right dedication, can reach the very top of the game.
"Jay is knocking very hard on my door - with two hands. He has outstanding quality," Wenger told Arsenal TV Online.
"He works very hard to get his fitness right. When his fitness is right, Jay will be not only a good player, but a great player.
"One thing is for sure - he can score goals. That is a massive talent you cannot give to people, his right foot, left foot, he is unbelievable in front of goal.
"This guy is an unbelievable finisher, inside and outside of the box.
"He has outstanding qualities, he has the build you dream to have.
"It is down to how far he wants to go because he has big potential."
How on earth did he start out as a Centre-Back?

Are they letting us win just for the inconvenience of having to go to Burton?

That is ******* abysmal. Adds on another two hours to the trip.
And is now being played in the Northern half of the draw? Surely we should have hosted the game instead?

Yep. If I was a betting man I’d say bye, because no time to sort out another venue.
First win of the season then

Still haven't told us who you would line up to replace him? Steve Gerrard?
Nathan Jones

I think if we are in the bottom 3 by then of this month there will be real pressure on Nige, we have plenty of winnable games ( on paper obviously) in August including the two we have already lost so something will need to change before we start playing the better sides.

Got to be honest I think we'll win fairly comfortably tomorrow so they're will be claims of the league being wrapped up by Easter

They’ll just yo-yo in the league. One season relegation flirts, one season play off contenders.
Like most teams in this league without Parachute Payments, you get your one chance every 5 or 6 years to reach the promised land with a good season where it all comes together. If you take it then your club is transformed overnight, if not then its all about staying in the Championship until the next oppurtunity arises. They are in the same boat as us in fairness.

Complete change by burnley in style of play. Don’t underestimate Huddersfield hang over though. Probably still feel cheated after the play off final , second penalty shout nailed on imo. The manager that transformed them from 20th the previous season to play off finalists walked out on them . Then they sell two of their best players a week before the season starts.
kompany couldn’t of hand picked a better opponent tonightYour probably right about Huddersfield, promoting the Assistant usually ends in disaster too as we know all too well! Must say I wasn't expecting much from Burnley given Kompany didn't do very well with Anderlecht but they look so fluid in attack with players swapping positions throughout and their full backs are practically Wingers.

This is like watching a Premier League side playing a L2 side

Burnley look very decent, streets ahead of Huddersfield

The old saying
Form is temporary Class is permanent
Alli was in good form once nothing more than that
Can't go along with that, his first few years after joining Spurs he was unbelievable, I think at the age of 21 his G/A stats were ahead of any other Premier league midfielder in history of that age. Somewhere down the line he's just lost his passion for the game and wouldn't be surprised if he retired very young.

They can enquire all they like, but .............surely it's a non starter. Why would he ever consider going to Boro?
Probably among the promotion favourites and have the Spence money to spend, can see why they would chance their arm

He’s not actually in the current squad but once this series is over I think it should be Brook coming in at four in Stokes’ place.
Of course we may find it slightly tricky replacing some of our great white ball players, when the time comes over the next few years, as we realise that the most talented players in the country haven’t been playing the actual format that the showpiece international white ball tournament is played in.
Brook or Pope should both slot in at 4 quite nicely in theory, the we'll still have the issue of being a seamer light though. Root and Livingston may well have to cover these overs between them with part time spin which isnt ideal although with the next WC being in India it may not be the worst thing.

It’s the media and news channels that cause the panic time and time again. Gets on my nerves.
Amazing how the media can twist the narrative, the lockdown summer of 2020 was very hot as well yet we didn't have the wall to wall news "coverage" with minute by minute trackers because the media were too busy whipping up Covid panic. Same as for the last couple of weeks the war on Ukraine barely gets a mention which is far more deserving than a couple of hot days in July.

Aspart of that interview he accused Simon Jordan of being responsible for the death of an EFL member, pretty strong allegation and as ridiculous as I'm sure it is I can't help but wonder what the back story is?

England heavy favourites surely now, get through the first 20 minutes tomorrow without losing a wicket and we'll be home and hosed. India fell apart a bit in that last session, even though Bumrah is captain he has zero authority in that team, its still the Kohli show
