  1. Is there a better run club than Brighton in world football? With European football on the horizon and the extra games that entails and Caicedo / McAllister likely to leave this summer I think it's pretty likely Alex Scott will be playing there next season, particularly with how close to home it'll be for him. In terms of development for him I cant think of a better club for him and also to maximise any sell on clause we get in the deal

G'day Dave, there's many on here that automatically right off scottish players but imo we've done reasonably ok in the past with the likes of Paul Hartley, Joe Jordan, John Shaw, Gerry Sweeney, Gerry Gow, Jamie McAllister, Scott Murray, Tom Ritchie, Don Gillies & arguably todays Tommy Conway (I believe Tommy qualifies as a Scot) & there's probably a lot more I can't remember. Sure there's been failures but there's been many, many failures of all nationalities.

    Your opinions please mate

Murray came through at Villa so hadn't been tainted by that standard by the time we got him, Conway is a stretch not sure he'd ever been to Scotland before his call up! McAllister and Hartley were decent but our record in buying from SPL clubs is patchy at best. Hopefully this lad bucks the trend

25m for him now seems a bit cheap. Think we need to be looking at closer to 30m.

We don't need to sell so that puts us in a strong position. I'd personally like to try and keep him until at least January as I think we could challenge for top 6 next season with him in the team.

I am in no doubt that he'll go on to play for a top 4 club at some point in the future. Right now that might be a little out of reach. Maybe Spurs but they don't have the best record of buying and playing young English talents.

Can't see Liverpool, United or Chelsea going for him right now. Man City maybe as they have recently been signing younger players.

I think for him a move to someone like Brighton or Brentford would be the perfect move for him right now. Both really good clubs who develop players further.

Strictly speaking your right but this summer is when his value will be at its peak, after that his contract becomes an issue as it will be 18 months left in the January and 12 the following summer and we will be in a far weaker negotiating position.

Doesn’t happen very often, mind. I can safely say after living in BS7 for three years, I never saw a gas shirt outside of a matchday (and I saw plenty of City shirts on the common as well!)

I’ve never had any time for Cardiff, going back to the 3-1 win over there when Murray got his brace and we were pelted with coins and piss. Sad bunch of *****, generally.

Now you've said that I live in BS15 and I can't actually remember the last time I saw one!

Can see him ending up somewhere like Palace, Brighton or West Ham.

Palace wouldn't pay what we want, Brighton or West Ham are realistic especially if Rice and Caicedo move for mega bucks in the summer and from our perspective would mean there is a potentially chunky sell on if one of the big 6 take him in a couple of years. I think Spurs are the ones he may end up at though, it's his boyhood club and they have a settled midfield with Hojberg and Bentancur so no pressure straight away gives him a chance to settle in. The Lansdown/Levy negotiations would be fun for everyone as well

I just wonder if we finish this season strongly, perhaps Scott might be persuaded to stay and push us towards the prem. Or is it that we need to sell him to enable us to fund our prem dream. If we keep selling our family silver, promotion might never happen. Oh to be a Bristol City fan.

His market value will never be higher than it is this summer unless he signs a new contract so I'd be surprised if he was here after the next window.

Let's say we had won that them into Europe, okay Europa League.

Thst prize money probably enables us to take the risk on keeping one if Bryan or Reid going got promotion as well as adding Maenpaa, Hunt, Webster, Weimann. Wonder how much that cost us...ripple effect etc.

LJ would have been right about Europe in 5 years....he should sue them personally as he'd have a statue outside Ashton Gate by now if it wasn't for them

In hindsight shouldn’t have given klose a deal in summer but didn’t quite expect him not to feature after such strong showing last season.

Didn't he have a family issue in Switzerland? I can remember NP saying he had gone back to deal with it a while ago, maybe that situation got worse and prevented him from being here if so then hopefully all is well for TK

Yarde outfought his odds but never really looked like winning that

Ahead on 2 cards at the time of stoppage and had him rocked on multiple occasions. Yarde was much better than I thought he was
