What a cracking test series. Barley a dull sesssion.

And to all those who want to rip apart the county championship because our test team is rubbish - **** right off

Think after the shambles we've seen for the last year or two the general consensus was that the fault was deep rooted at the bottom of the game however this series suggests it was at the top all along.

I would think so, and needs to happen soon so the new captain has a year under his belt before the next WC. As you say, there are plenty of people who replace him in the side as a batsman. Big shoes to fill mind as a captain.

It'll be Buttler, think thats already been decided upon within the ECB, it should be a fairly seamless transition given how he plays the game personally as well as how long he's already been in the ODI setup.

  3. Anyone else think Morgan will call it a day soon? Been a fantastic captain  for England and revolutionised limited overs cricket in this country but his batting had been going downhill for quite a while now and we have literally dozens of batsmen that can step into the ODI top 6

Could Bentley be off to Southampton then?

Based on nothing other than an inkling - with Forster off they only have McCarthy and 40 year old Cabellero. Bents would be a good back up and count as HG player. I believe he has been linked with Saints before

Signed a GK from Man City today I think for £12m

An incredibly low bar I know but can’t be any worse than our last signing from St Etienne

Why would you tempt fate like that...

    First thought….

    O’Leary is off.

Yep and nobody could blame him if that was the case, he has a career to progress.

  6. What an innings by Bairstow, plenty on here including me saying it was time to move him on and Pope was never going to do anything at 3....so happy to be proven wrong. What a transformation in the space of a few weeks, bring on the Aussies next summer, be nice to see Anderson go past Warne during that series

There are plenty of other players wishing him luck with a single emoji….. not Tomlin though he couldn't resist…Classless Idiot….but then maybe I'm the idiot for giving him the reaction he craved.

Your overthinking it, Tomin doesn't care enough about football to have the career he could have so I doubt he's trawling through his old clubs forums to see if his Instagram posts cause any sort of commotion. Really don't understand why anyone gets so riled over this kind of stuff.

He thought it was a little opportunity for the desperate waster to feel relevant

Or a bit of light hearted banter between friends? I doubt Tomlin or any other footballer thinks posting an emoji on Social Media has any sort of relevancy to anyone.

Yes, much better to sign somebody from Chelsea for big bucks, that guarantees success. Fans love a good "marquee signing" too.

I feel sorry for those poor Leicester fans who had Pearson signing some unknown striker from Fleetwood. What a disaster that was.

    Sort it out Nige!?

It wasn't meant in a "how the mighty have fallen" way just funny how things change over time

How many games do we have to see Jonny Bairstow fail to ever even look like a top five batsman in test match cricket?

He plays as a keeper and bats seven, or he doesn’t play. Surely.

Couldn't agree more, should have batted 7 in this game with Brook or Pope at 5
