  1. Cotterill could be a fantastic appointment for them. Granted, they don't have the budget or pulling power that we do, but if they want someone local who can turn them into a comfortable top half (possibly more) side - that's who they should look at.
  2. I think it’s great we run a women’s side but it seems to receive almost equal promotion online to our youth sides and u23 squad. I can see why some feel it’s a bit forced upon us because imo there is nowhere near the same level of interest.
  3. True. I think both are fairly durable really - especially Fury. Against Ruiz, Joshua caught a blow to the ear during that first knockdown which messed up his equilibrium. That partly explains that performance.
  4. Completely agree. AJ vs Klitschko was a great fight and win for AJ, but would’ve put plenty of miles on the clock. Such a shame that AJ vs Fury won’t be in front of 80/90k at Wembley.
  5. The Fury example is interesting - watching that back, it was a flash knockdown really because he was off balance. Also, as a young fighter, he was quite sloppy and used to come forward far more for a brawl. Depends how you define ‘chin’ too - because Fury wasn’t KO’d and won the fight. Chin, to me, impacts their ability to finish the fight. He still cites Cunningham as his hardest opponent.
  6. Easy for Usyk really. He often starts slowly, I think this is deliberate, to feel his opponent out, judge their range and aggression. Chisora just swinging in hope and occasionally trying to wear him down in the clinch. Of course Haye, Hearn and Bellew made a case for Chisora winning the fight. Random aggression doesn’t mean someones boxing well. Usyk too fit, too accurate and incredible movement.
  7. That's true but I think Usyk is levels above. The Matchroom hype around this fight is to use Chisora being in the shape of his life as the USP. As you say though, it'll be interesting to see how Usyk's power translates at HW as a pro. He did fight as a HW in the amateurs beating Joe Joyce fairly easily.
  8. I think Usyk will win fairly comfortably. Either a wide UD or Chisora’s corner will pull him out like Fury 2. I like Chisora though, very fun fighter.
  9. I can see the benefit of investing in it, even if it's essentially a loss making product (not just in a financial sense). You're right it is difficult to quantify, the impression I get is that on average our supporters will keep an eye on the result if we're playing a famous women's side (ie Arsenal) and it's promoted via the Bristol City FC social media channels. They wouldn't go out of their way to follow the side though. Clearly there are exceptions to this such as yourself.
  10. I agree that it's good we have a women's team under the Bristol Sport umbrella. But I'm not sure there are 'plenty' who are interested in it. How would you quantify that?
  11. I think you're better off just taking the L on this one. In your defence, back in Feb none of us really knew what was going to happen and none of us would be privy to that info.
  12. At 5am whilst most of OTIB sleeps, @Mr Popodopolous is diligently researching FFP so the rest of us don’t have to. Thank you sir!
  13. It's much better for boxing that Whyte lost. Unless he landed a shot like the one Pov landed on him, he's clearly levels below Fury/Joshua and isn't a threat at all. Him being mandatory just delays Fury vs Joshua happening which is the fight the public need.
  14. I know it's ultimately for everyone's own good but it's going to be rubbish. I wouldn't be particularly fussed about going at all if the only way to enjoy the match was a socially distanced fairly lonely experience with no atmosphere and no away support. I suppose on the bright side it's better than nothing and a sign that things are gradually improving.
  15. Yep wouldn't be surprised at all. I think there'll be immense pressure from the media and possibly Government for the promotional outfits to make the fight in the UK though. The Government know the public will need a lift when this is all over and they'll want people out spending money again. I don't think it's cut and dry that it'll happen overseas because of this.
  16. Exactly and he's not anywhere near the commercial draw. Strictly speaking he deserves a shot, but broadcasters would much rather put on AJ vs Fury. I think the majority of the public would rather watch that by far too. AJ and Fury are household names, Whyte hasn't got that profile. The AJ vs Fury fight has to happen in the UK though. The British public need a lift after this year, would be a travesty if it doesn't happen at Wembley. Would be such a shame if it happens in Saudi Arabia or somewhere.
  17. Can't remember where but it was from somewhere reliable. Great news if true. It's tough on Whyte but I think the reality is that Matchroom probably know that Whyte is a couple of levels below the likes of Fury/Joshua/Usyk and are fairly confident he'd lose in a big fight for a title. Also he's not a huge draw financially so there's little incentive to put much effort into him. He makes a good fighter to headline their lower tier cards though in the 02 arena.
  18. It's reportedly 50/50 for first fight, 60/40 (in winners favour) for second fight. Seems completely fair to me, well done all round. All the politics and split stuff ruins good fights getting made.
  19. I read a similar theory but their angle was that the virus didn't originate in Wuhan but a textile making town that Italy has particularly close links with.
  20. No better time for this country to move on from toilet paper and start using bidets or one of these. Toilet paper is fairly archaic and gross when you think about it. Disgusting to see people profiteering from selling it though.
  21. Think it would be pretty outrageous if fans had to pay for streaming away games. These are unprecedented times and I think clubs should take the small financial hit (relatively speaking) and allow people to watch streams to home and away games. That said, there will be so many streams available anyway that if you want one I'm sure anyone can find one now loads more people have access to them.
  22. Great, I used my Wildcard to bring in 3 Arsenal and Man City players each AND captained De Bruyne ?
  23. Always better to be safe than sorry, the NHS would rather you added an extra call to the call volume but got checked out rather than inadvertently spread it. Questionnaire is pretty good though.
