Oh right yeah, forgot I'm not allowed to speak, and should just get back in the kitchen, ey?
Watch out in there because Pearson might give you this treatment

Take a look in the classics thread.
I came to that conclusion after 4 matches of him being awful ( NOT ONE). I was subsequently proved wrong and have always been happy to admit and self deprecating.
Funny you don't mention stuff like Bobby Reid who I got spot on when he was dust binned by most on here. Or Wes Burns.
Or maybe - Mark Ashton who may be personally painful to you.

Bingo.
This is a fantastic forum, one of the best on the web. The fact that the club appear to have prima facie tried to engineer it is totally out of order.
The question has to be if Zuni was such a passionate Bristol City fan (and I don’t discount that people signing up who support the current regime are), why did he/she start becoming passionate when Pearson was sacked but decided to leave the forum when he was replaced. Did they stop caring after that point?
Unfortunately the whole scenario has the fingerprints of the ham fisted way JL and BT have handled things.
Own your decision you cowards.
Now I think about it, perhaps Pearson‘s very specific nod to OTIB in this tweet was a hint..

Ah the old, I get to tell him what to do, how he should react and a really poorly 'hidden' man up message if he can't take it
Absolutely horrendous levels of entitlement
So disappointing to see you caught up in this
A very impressive over-analysis of Mr P’s post.

Could be non football fans but found themselves in a job at BS and started following City, Bears and Flyers and has gotten into it. Don’t many of you follow your work place on social media? So they come here to express actual opinions and get bullied off of the forum. Not very fair to fellow city fans. Maybe it was some sort of ploy by hierarchy but surely more likely just normal people wanting to discuss a hobby?
Because it’s not their place to effectively spread propaganda on an independent fans forum to try and give the illusion that there is support for their actions within the fan base.

Classic.
Deluded, wrong and bitter but classic.
My favourite post of the day.
You are the ‘Matt Smith is awful’ guy - so if anyone is going to be the authority on criticising posters for making a potentially OTT hasty judgement then it’s fitting it should be you.

I don’t think anything can be read into today really. Games immediately after an appointment are usually a bit of a dead rubber.
What is very apparent though is that Manning needs to start getting wins or a significant section of the support will turn.

Baffling that Henderson and Phillips keep getting picked. I just don’t understand the rationale.. surely the principle you set as manager is that the best players, in form, who are playing regularly deservedly get awarded places.

Confirmation bias?
I could also say that you're looking at it to see the things you also want to see.
Lets clear this up, I hope Manning is an absolute roaring success here. You may have belief that he will be, I'm not so sure. Neither of us are right or wrong.
Of course he has a chance to win me over, starting 2moro.
Not quite sure that players standing around constitutes lively.
I honestly don’t know either way because I don’t know much about Manning.
I’m annoyed Pearson was sacked but am prepared to give Manning a fair go. Surely that’s how most people feel?

One thing that always makes me smile watching these videos as I think of the (normally) match day posts
Player ***** is S**T
Player **** is Downs League.
Etc
Is just how impressive for us mere mortals their ability actually is, their techniques , miles and miles away from even good local footballers let alone most of us huff puff and shuffle weekend footballers
It might be on a training pitch ,but as they take a ball at pace in their stride and whip one in the top corner from 20 years for the umpteenth time makes you compare with yourself who can remember in detail the twice you did it at training and the once , in an actual game , on a wet Sunday morning against the Amblers Vets
I agree with all your other posts but think this doesn’t have much relevance - people, when criticising players, aren’t saying they could do better.
They’re comparing the player - relatively speaking - to standards expected of a professional.

The majority of football players don't like team meetings and standing around listening to information. There are countless examples out there of players falling asleep during these meetings.
They are football players who want to play football.
At a lower level you may get more of a buy in but at this level you're dealing with millionaires in some cases.
Just give Manning a chance. Seems like you’ve made up your mind already.

What a genuinely odd thread. Besides, even if true, Conway has many more years of his career left. He’ll see tonnes of managers come and go, it’s normal.

If anyone, he sounds a lot more like Sean O’Driscoll.
Processes not outcomes.
Younger players can teach older players.
Basics are free (hard work, running, effort etc).
Give players the right information to be able to make their own decisions on the pitch.
All SOD sound bites too. I see a lot of similarities.
And that’s not a bad thing. SOD had the right principles - it just failed badly hereAlso pound-for-pound made some excellent signings

His interview is pretty good. I can see why he appealed, lots of buzzwords JL etc would’ve liked. It’s not LJ style waffle, but will take some adjusting after Pearson’s media handling which I think most people enjoyed.
Pretty much everything he says in interview covers what JL claimed we wanted - so it’s reassuring that it aligns.. I think.

It’s reassuring to see the board appointing someone who fits their remit, and Oxford fans are very annoyed which is a good sign.
I had a feeling they’d be tempted by the novelty of appointing Lampard or someone like that and throw the baby out with the bathwater.
Sacking Pearson was absurd but not Manning’s fault. However, if he doesn’t get results quickly there will be a lot of pressure.

As others have alluded, the negativity is more due to Pearson’s dismissal.
Personally, I’m not as bothered as others about Pearson leaving and am actually quite enthused at Manning’s appointment.
As I said earlier, I watched the MK team a number of times under his tenure and I really enjoyed the way they played.
Similarly, I saw Oxford a couple of times last year (before he arrived) and they were dog-awful and I thought they’d go down, but since his arrival he’s turned around the results but also the performances.
I’m probably in a minority on here but I’m actually happy with his arrival.
Is there anyone who featured in the betting who you’d have preferred? Doesn’t matter whether a credible link or not - just theoretically

JP with another good article.
One former City manager once said of how Ashton Gate can “swallow you up” at the worst of times; an oppressive almost suffocating experience.
Interesting part of the piece. Which manager said the above
I think that was Lee Johnson

By the way - this new phenomenon of suspiciously pro-BS propaganda accounts joining in the last week. That never happened before the move from Clik.
Is there any way for the mods to identify common IP info or something? It’s very clear what’s going on.
It would be a bit more believable if at least some of them had display pictures. Try harder Bristol Sport.

I am of the opinion that generally are passing on things in good faith.
What was slightly jarring about the “Phantom” rumour was it did feel a little like he was enjoying drip feeding stuff and the attention that generated without revealing that much.
You can get away with that if you’ve got a track record, otherwise it feels a bit ‘I know something you don’t know’.

Lampard exciting?
Obviously it’s objective - thought that went without saying.

In an alternative history scenario whereby we hadn’t had a very divisive spell with Lee Johnson and the Holden disaster - it would be very intriguing to see how a Manning appointment would be received.
I think, understandably, the recent history has created a bit of a hangover.

The weird thing is, even in a total fantasy, I cannot think of a candidate that I'd find exciting??!
Keegan, Dalglish, umm, Pep? Can't think of any others
Unless it's a player manager, like Ronaldo !
Aside from perhaps Lampard I don’t think any of the betting market is that ‘exciting’.
It seems very unusual for a manager to take training and do media stuff if an appointment was as imminent as suggested..
