  1. You mean Fury's love-handles ? Apparently he deliberately doesn't work on them as he feels it helps him take body shots... not sure the science would support that, but sometimes it's just whatever makes the boxer feel most comfortable, I guess.
  2. It's been a strange one for sure. I don't think PPV sales will be as great as Frank thinks either. I mean fair play to the respect between the boxers, but the weigh-in yesterday was just one big love-in! No edge or animosity whatsoever. The two of them were dancing around on the stage together at the end. I'm half expecting them to get in the ring tomorrow and just do some MC-ing, instead of fighting. Fury definitely worthy of his status as a heavy favourite, and looks in good shape. Whyte seems a bit in awe of him, has he got the belief that he can be heavyweight champion of the world? Clearly he's got to find a way to connect with that left hook of his, probably work Fury to the body first, before trying to get in behind the Fury jab and connect to the head. He has the power for sure. Gut instinct is a Fury stoppage rounds 8-10, but as ever with the heavyweights, who know...
  3. You can get a preview of him now on BT Sport. A typically bonkers Bristol game...5 tries inside the first half hour...
  4. Seeing them at today's presser, I didn't realise how pally Fury and Whyte were... Cacace fight (main support?) has now been cancelled. Not sure why, but Cacace understandably devastated. At 33, he's unlikely to get another opportunity like that.
  5. I actually went to Yate v Kings Langley on Saturday and Yate did play well, scored a couple of cracking goals too. Amusing watching alongside a 30-strong stag do from Ireland. Can't make Taunton on Saturday, which is a gutter, but hopefully they get the job done ?
  6. Only been once a few years back but I can still remember how good the massaman gae (lamb) was, faultless. It was a dry restaurant when I went, not sure if that's still the case. Visited Box-E recently, which lived up to the hype. Sat inside right by the kitchen watching chef Elliott work. He's former head chef at a Michelin star restaurant in London. Everything from the homemade bread and salt and seaweed butter they bring out (on the house), to my guinea fowl and borlotti beans main, to the pannacotta dessert (many say the best pannacotta in Bristol, and whilst I can't say for sure, if there's a better one then it must be pretty damn good) was excellent. Some limecello (note, made with limes not lemon) to finish off a memorable meal. Would go back in a heartbeat.
  7. Broner is a vile bloke, don't want to see him get a pay day. Did I hear that right, Brook wants £10m to fight Benn??! Benn needs to get in with a top 10er next. Yeah, he's vulnerable, but the ko ability is gonna make him exciting to watch.
  8. Fooking hell, this is lively 'n' all.
  9. Cor, McCarthy took some heavy shots there. Good fight.
  10. Bit rich from Barca ultras who don't bother turning up for most La Liga games. They didn't care about the Europa League until they got to the knock out stages and now they cry when a club that they knew weeks in advance were bringing 30k take over their stadium. I went to Camp Nou in 2018 for a La Liga match and was surrounded by football tourists. Very disappointing experience tbh. Look at the atmosphere at Atleti the other night, proper club.
  11. In fairness to Ricky, they weren't just your average world class fighters. They were both Hall of Famers.... no shame in losing to either, and I maintain Cortez reffed that Mayweather bout disgracefully.
  12. Remember us last time in Paris mind.... ??
  13. La Defense is my favourite piece of architecture in the world. Already been up it, class!
  14. Yes, I was thinking of it purely as an opportunity to go on the Source in Paris for a night or two!
  15. Am I right in saying win tonight and it'll be a trip to Paris weekend of 7 May to face Racing 92 or Stade?
  16. Joe Root has stepped down as England captain.
  17. Some dreadful finishing from Rangers tonight. Make Leipzig favourites for that semi.
  18. Just the 30k Frankfurt fans there, taking over Camp Nou. Frankfurt v West Ham would be a spicy semi-final, to say the least. Edit: 3 nil Bowen
  19. Why people are "gutted" or "feel sorry" for Chelski is beyond me. A club who's success has been built on dodgy, laundered money, stolen from the Russian people, by a Putin ally. And whose money has been a significant cause of the sanitisation and excess of the Premier League. No, #### Chelski. I'm glad they are out of Europe. I hope Palace beat them at the weekend and all.
  20. Just got back from Taunton's win against Yate this evening in front of a crowd of 1,068. The Peacocks are on the verge of promotion to National League South (step 2) for the first time in their history. As fate would have it, their next game is at bitter rivals Tiverton Town this Bank Holiday Monday, where they can all but seal promotion with a win. Always been a feisty fixture and I'd expect at least 500 Taunton will travel down for the game. Will be good for the region if Taunton get promoted as National League South is very South East centric. Good to bump into a few City tonight who were supporting Taunton too !
  21. Hopefully not! I recall the Sale home league game back in January when we beat them comfortably- hopefully a similar result on Friday!
  22. Yeah pretty attritional viewing. Sets up next Friday night nicely though. Only £20 a ticket. Will be a more open game I fancy...
