  1. La Defense is my favourite piece of architecture in the world. Already been up it, class!
  2. Yes, I was thinking of it purely as an opportunity to go on the Source in Paris for a night or two!
  3. Am I right in saying win tonight and it'll be a trip to Paris weekend of 7 May to face Racing 92 or Stade?
  4. Joe Root has stepped down as England captain.
  5. Some dreadful finishing from Rangers tonight. Make Leipzig favourites for that semi.
  6. Just the 30k Frankfurt fans there, taking over Camp Nou. Frankfurt v West Ham would be a spicy semi-final, to say the least. Edit: 3 nil Bowen
  7. Why people are "gutted" or "feel sorry" for Chelski is beyond me. A club who's success has been built on dodgy, laundered money, stolen from the Russian people, by a Putin ally. And whose money has been a significant cause of the sanitisation and excess of the Premier League. No, #### Chelski. I'm glad they are out of Europe. I hope Palace beat them at the weekend and all.
  8. Just got back from Taunton's win against Yate this evening in front of a crowd of 1,068. The Peacocks are on the verge of promotion to National League South (step 2) for the first time in their history. As fate would have it, their next game is at bitter rivals Tiverton Town this Bank Holiday Monday, where they can all but seal promotion with a win. Always been a feisty fixture and I'd expect at least 500 Taunton will travel down for the game. Will be good for the region if Taunton get promoted as National League South is very South East centric. Good to bump into a few City tonight who were supporting Taunton too !
  9. Hopefully not! I recall the Sale home league game back in January when we beat them comfortably- hopefully a similar result on Friday!
  10. Yeah pretty attritional viewing. Sets up next Friday night nicely though. Only £20 a ticket. Will be a more open game I fancy...
  11. Fair play to Connaught, giving Leinster a hell of a game in Galway tonight.
  12. I actually quite like Cacace, he's a stylish boxer, but the rest of that undercard can get in the bin.
  13. Greatest player to ever pick up a club.
  14. Nice pic! That's disappointing to hear on consistency, but I'll certainly take the risk based on my first experience & hope they've ironed out any issues. Three Brothers and Squeezed are both very good, though similar to you I had a takeaway from Squeezed quite recently and by the time I'd got it home the fries were cold and soggy. Hobgoblin is ok, though I don't think their patties are particularly good quality and are often too dry. Also, had crap service in there a couple of times.
  15. But here's the elephant in the room...is there the desire and appetite at the ECB, or globally for that matter, to save the long formats of the game including Test cricket? As of now, I'm not entirely sure there is, sadly. Playing this brand of cricket, and losing, it won't be long before summer Test crowds start to dwindle.
  16. It came out in the McGuigan v Frampton Court case that Kiko was paid £310k for their second fight. I'd imagine his career earnings have been decent.
  17. Couldn't disagree with his analysis, mind. If anything I thought Butcher was even more brutal. He directly questioned tactics and field positions (direct criticism of Root and Collingwood) and called our bowling in the morning "horrendous". End of the day, the rot has set in over many years and isn't going to be magically fixed in one Test series. Entirely possible things will get even worse before they get better. Can't see any obvious quick solutions, even changing the captain.
  18. Did you learn that off the Welshman who's filling your missus in? Surely the only explanation of your hatred of all things Welsh! Bochdew!
  19. Well said mate. ? All of what you've said there is spot on, just mad that we have to justify it to some angry, ethno-nationalist plebs in the 21st century! Cymru am byth!
  20. Went to Milk Bun earlier in the week, up in Clifton village. Burger joint whose USP is that they are the only place in Bristol who make and bake their own buns from scratch. The hard work pays off as the burgers taste superb with big fluffy sesame seed buns and lovely patties. Also, kicked things off with a perfect negroni. Highly recommended and will be going back to try more of the menu. Our Story - milkbun.co.uk
  21. Gosh, your little head will explode when you find out I'm also an Irish citizen... you see it is possible for people to have family and links to more than one country, Tone. With your little Englander attitude, one can only assume you are 100% pure anglo-saxon, a result of hundreds of years of inbreeding. Would make sense tbh.
  22. What an effort from these two. Still plenty of movement for the bowlers. Random fact, which I recall from a tour of Grenada a few years back, is that this stadium was paid for entirely by China. Presumably in exchange for shipping rights or some other preferential trading arrangement.
  23. "Hate" England?! I've followed the England cricket team and football team all over the world you numpty ??
  24. Usyk leaving to train for AJ fight, so says Mike Coppinger ESPN...
