  1. Well, that was an uneventful two rounds. ?
  2. You just know 5 minutes in the ringside seats are all gonna be on their chairs like meerkats as a massive scrap breaks out in the crowd!
  3. It does, but even more so, why keep them out there unnecessarily when a positive result wasn't on the cards? Anyway, should be a better wicket Weds at the Kensington Oval.
  4. From listening to Collingwood it sounds like we were pissed off with the quality of the pitch (rightfully) and maybe this was a small slice of revenge. As Butch is pointing out now though, have we injured Stokes in the process by keeping him out there unnecessarily? Next Test in four days time? Daft keeping them out there
  5. Yet again we're heading for a main event start time of post 10.30pm for a fight in the UK. Absolutely baffling. Should be 10pm at the latest. No other sport would market itself in this way. Refuse to believe having it this late does anything other than harm viewing figures. Especially this time of year.
  6. Interesting Braithwaite saying it was disrespectful of Eng keeping the Windies out there for so long. Think I'd agree. Why did they start the last over needing 6 wickets from 6 balls? Bit embarrassing. Realistically at least 5 overs kept they should have called it a day, surely? We never looked like taking wickets.
  7. Has been for sometime imo. He's brilliant on athletics comms too. Fancy Wood too. Seems like a decent amount of Irish have made it over so should be some atmosphere.
  8. #TearsForTone tonight ? Looking like four wins for England in the past two championships, with two of those obviously coming against Italy. Incredibly poor overall, though Eng did at least put up a good fight today.
  9. Just renegotiated my Virgin package with BT sport for £55 a month inc broadband/phone. Very happy with the amount of sport you get on it. Loads of Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Serie A and boxing too. Plus Champs League and Premier League.
  10. It's got a Michelin Plate, not a star. I think @petehinton mentioned it earlier in the thread. I've not been yet but it does look very good.
  11. Great dish that. They do it in Gambas too. Heading there in a few weeks
  12. Below average. Well below average.
  13. Freddy Bird set up Lido restaurant, which is where the owners of Bravas also worked. Bravas/Gambas/Cargo Cantina/Bakers & Co all owned by City fan, and all very good.
  14. Boro game in the Lansdown a guy walked in at kick off with a pint in hand. Sat a few rows in front of me drinking it. Then just before HT took his empty back to the concourse, only to re-emerge a couple of minutes later, with ANOTHER pint!
  15. Surprised at "just as many problems" as football? But rugby is certainly not trouble free. There was a big fight between Exeter and Bristol fans in the South Stand which resulted in court appearances, Bristol Uni v UWE game where there was fighting in the concourse, and most bizarrely a Worcester fan unprovoked punched a woman in the face in the Atyeo a few years back.
  16. Not sure. He was exceptional in English conditions too as his domestic and Test record over here testifies.
  17. Arguable he was the best of his generation when you have the likes of Kallis, Sangakkara and "Little Master". It's pretty tricky comparing batsmen and bowlers though. In terms of spin bowlers, Murali has better stats than Warne and bowled at the same time. But, horrible to watch!
  18. Good to hear. Think it's actually £3.20 a Thatchers, but still a bargain.
  19. 18 unbeaten. Extraordinary run. Still looking at play-offs though.
  20. Sounds like it's in the same ownership as the Mardyke, and it's £2.30 a pint of Thatchers. RIP away fans walking past.
  21. If you haven't heard it before, a comic retelling of Ball of the Century, by The Duckworth Lewis Method. A band fronted by Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy. The whole album is worth a listen too, all about cricket, and good fun.
  22. A great loss to the sport. It was terrifying watching him bowl against England. He was Imperial's overseas player in 1989, though he turned out for some Sunday XI games for Knowle CC too. I know someone that played for Knowle at the time, and apparently there was great surprise that within two years (1991) he made his Australia debut. That summer of '89 he was enjoying BBQ's and beer as much as his cricket, shall we say. He transcended cricket, was one of the biggest names in sport for a time, and will be mourned for a long time down under, I'm sure.
