  1. Abrahmovic played a key role in supporting Putin, and helping him get into power, at the start of the century. Back then Putin needed the financial support of the oligarchs. That has now changed as Putin has increased his power, and own personal wealth, so much. The oligarchy is now subservient to Putin. This is why you see so few of them speaking out against the regime, or certainly not directly criticise him.
  2. Penny for the thoughts of the Saudi PIF this evening, talk about "here's what you could have won"...
  3. The absurd truth, of course, is that he can comfortably afford to write that amount of wealth off.
  4. I wonder what skeletons he has in his closet to give up £1.5bn, just like that...
  5. Just to help you guys out, Forest signed a player in January for £2.2m. We can't afford £2.20 for a player at the moment. That player was probably a minimum £4m investment inc wages. This will go someway to explaining why we lost to Nottingham Forest today.
  6. It's getting so bad that maybe we do need to go to Olympic style scoring.
  7. Feels like an element of corruption. Look at Campbell Hatton's last "win" in a fight he clearly lost. But they needed him to win as a home fighter and to keep his career on the right track. Tonight also feels like corruption as 1) there was no rematch clause, and 2) in any case Taylor will move up in weight Ergo, Catterall is left with nothing.
  8. Ben Shalom, Sky's own promoter "I'm embarrassed"
  9. I think that's the most disgusting decision I've ever seen in boxing. Taylor by three rounds after suffering a 10-8 round?! Hahaha Do me a ****ing favour
  10. Jack Catterall undisputed light-welterweight champion. He was a mandatory and had faced no-one of note to date. Wow.
  11. Well, Taylor needs a KO in R12 Incredible.
  12. Huge upset if Catterall pulls this off. Wasn't even particularly interested in this fight as assumed Taylor would be a level or two above him but this is remarkable so far. Catterall is really elusive and hard to hit.
  13. Think we need to be clear here, he was in City's Academy for a little over a year before signing his first pro contract in March 2021. He came though Guernsey's system.
  14. If that is the case then I'm sure he used to be a regular contributor to OTIB and I was on a minibus he drove to Leicester City many years ago. I'd be grateful if someone could confirm, as he was indeed a lovely chap.
  15. Well, Premier League for sure. If you look at one of the teams rumoured (are) interested in him, Palace. They currently have Jordan Ayew playing in a very similar position. Ayew has scored once this season, in 28 appearances (mostly starts) for Palace. Semenyo is 8 years younger than him, quicker than him, bigger than him, can score with both feet (with power) and can turn his man on a sixpence with his back to goal. He also contributes massively in the assists department. He is arguably already a better player than Ayew at 22, and Ayew has had a very decent career with well over 150 Premier League appearances. Hopefully this indicates where the kid is and why City will be holding out for £20m + for him.
  16. "Ahead of Massengo" is an early contender for understatement of the year. Alex Scott is miles ahead of him.
  17. Have to say Dan Bentleys tweet after Saturday's game when he said something like "this is what football is all about" when a child ran on the pitch to get his shirt, was completely irresponsible. I don't know what's going on with him, he's already got into trouble with Pearson and been dropped, and it's like he's spoiling for another fight with the club. City need to sort this out because, quite simply, it sends out a bad precedent.
  18. Tbf last season he scored two league goals in 45 odd appearances (appreciate many were from the bench, but still). The covid situation was still in the balance and well, look at our finances. Bearing in mind that would've been £5m profit. Still, it wouldn't look a great deal retrospectively! I'd say his value has dramatically increased in the past few months since he returned from injury. With a year + option left on his contract we are in a strong position. Don't need to sell unless the offer is big, and now it would have to be bloody big... pace, power, can assist and score with both feet. A rare commodity.
  19. Hahaha wow. Palace could've had a bargain there....
  20. Did you watch his fight v Maidana? He can take a punch alright.
