  1. Sold out now. But there are tickets on official resale in all areas of the ground ranging from £80-120.
  2. The developer (Lansdown) is offering 0% AH. That is fact.
  3. You guess wrongly. They are saying they will not provide any AH on-site or off-site, due to viability. All of this is complete nonsense, unfortunately.
  4. Looking forward to it again this year. Just about over the disappointment of Wales missing out on the Slam last year ? England were a disgrace last time out, surely must improve this time around? If they beat Scotland tomorrow (big if) then fixtures look favourable for them. I've got a ticket for Wales v Scotland next Sat, anyone else attending any games?
  5. It says so in the Planning Statement. And yes, they are using a viability argument to justify nil affordable housing. One may question what abnormal costs there are on this site to justify such an argument.
  6. LJ LMA Statement. Bit in bold! Amazing how the fortunes of a manager can turn so quickly... Classy Statement tbf. "Firstly, I would like to thank Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, Kristjaan Speakman and the Board of Directors for allowing me the opportunity to be Head Coach at this great Club. "To all the staff, whether that be my coaching team, players, the office staff, academy, training ground and stadium operations, your efforts have been nothing short of extraordinary. You are the heartbeat of the club and you should all be very proud. There are some amazing people within Sunderland AFC and some of you will be friends for life. Whether it be Karen Casey going above and beyond the call of duty, Joyce Rome’s fierce and unwavering support, or those who participated in our staff 6-a-side games on Fridays, there are far too many heroes at that football club to name you all. "Upon arrival, my remit was changing the playing philosophy at the club, reducing the average age of the first team squad, and all the while competing for and gaining promotion. I leave the Football Club knowing we were on the right path, which gives me incredible satisfaction. I tried to lead the team with honesty and integrity from the moment I stepped through the door. I am extremely proud of the hard work put in by a talented set of players and staff. Working together tirelessly on the training ground with such quality has been an honour. "Collectively we have achieved a lot in a short space of time, often in difficult circumstances. In the calendar year of 2021, we achieved the highest points per game average in the entire EFL, won the Papa John’s Trophy at Wembley, were amongst the highest goal scoring teams in the EFL, and took the Club to a Quarter Final of the Carabao Cup. During which I hope the Sunderland fans have found that love of a matchday once more, reconnecting with their Football Club with a collective pride of the hard work being done to play a brand of football to entertain as well as succeed. "I have spent many hours helping Stuart Harvey and Kristjaan Speakman in recruiting top quality, often youth international talent and I am grateful to my football friends and contacts in football for their counsel and aiding us in recruiting those players at extraordinary value. We have also protected the pathway for young players from the Academy of Light. Making sure opportunities were there for the best home-grown players to get the minutes they need to develop within the First Team. That unique connection to the community, of one of their own representing them, is so important at Sunderland. Dan Neil is now an example for others to follow and his recent England call up is a credit to all. "A special mention goes out to the Sunderland fans. Arriving in a pandemic with empty stadiums was strange to begin with but I am so glad we got to experience the passion that you guys bring to the Stadium of Light on match days. The attendances at this level are something you would not get at many clubs in the entire world. The experience has exceeded my every expectation, and I have felt a real connection with every Mackem I’ve met. It is a shame I couldn’t see the potential promotion through for you all, which was something I wanted to deliver for those that deserve it most. I was confident the work we did in January added the final pieces of the puzzle we needed to get there. I believe that this squad is ready now and I for one will be happy to watch them take you there. "Finally, I would like to thank my immediate family, my wife Nicola and my daughter Izzy, who sacrificed so much to allow me to pursue my dream of managing this iconic football club. "I have absolutely loved my time in the North East and am very grateful for the experience of managing Sunderland AFC. Nothing would make me happier than to see the club rise back to the top."
  7. You can read here about how of 125 residential units proposed at the sporting quarter, the Lansdowns are offering 0% of the units as affordable housing, despite the local policy stating a minimum of 30% should be provided. Some would suggest that is the actions of a ruthless, or even 'greedy' developer, as opposed to people with genuine concerns about the community at heart... but I'll let people make their own minds up. Edit: sorry link 21/03165/F | Demolition of existing buildings and the phased redevelopment of the site to comprise a sports and convention centre, a hotel, 125 residential units, office accommodation, retail, gym, club museum, multi-storey car park, public realm improvements and landscaping, new internal access routes, new and improved vehicular and pedestrian accesses and infrastructure and other associated works and improvements on land west of Ashton Gate Stadium. 8. Man attends PR event of Lansdown owned company, which has the sole intention of promoting said Lansdown owned company, in the presence of the Lansdown family, and in audience of the Lansdown family, and the next day the man tells everyone about how wonderful the Lansdowns are because they attended an event in honour of a Lansdown owned company that told him how wonderful they are.
  9. Got today's in two go's. You reds.
  10. They can't accurately predict the weather for tomorrow, let alone 9 days time.
  11. The defender didn't commit a foul so no penalty. It really should be that simple.
  12. I will never read a thread titled "Chris Martin" and not have the piano intro to Clocks immediately play in my head.
  13. I wonder how many more incidents of this nature will have to happen before professional football wakes up and realises it has a particular problem with this kind of thing. Far too many incidents for such a small group of men. And we certainly don't get to hear about everything that goes on either.
  14. I would also say it's encouraging that Pearson's aimed some vitriol at the officials of late. I think he finally has a team of players he believes in and wants to protect.
  15. He didn't actually. And it's fairly well documented that Ranieri wasn't keen on Kante to begin with.
  16. I think Schmeichel is slightly better informed about what went on at Leicester than you. His opinion carries a fair bit of weight as far as I'm concerned. A bit more than Marc Albrighton's girlfriend.
  17. I know Giuseppe, he's been there for years. Very much classic Italian cooking but good. You should try Moltobuono!59 on Park St! Also great classic Italian (Sardinian) pasta dishes and pizzas.
  18. Since Atkinson and King went off on Saturday we've looked the best we have done all season.
  19. They may not be at Kenilworth Rd for too much longer. They've completed a land deal which should see them start work quite soon on a new 23,000 seater stadium in the centre of Luton: New Luton Town stadium moves closer after land sale - BBC News The site is about a mile east of Kenilworth Rd. Good to see a new stadium in a central location, instead of being out-of-town.
  20. That's sad to hear. I saw him performing with Get The Blessing in the Colston Hall foyer a few years back. Very talented sax player for sure.
  21. Bears really impressive second half. Will be seeded for the draw for the first knock out game which means we face one of the teams placed 5-8th in pool A. Currently, could be one of Exeter, Glasgow, Sale or Clermont. Home and away fixture in April.
  22. He has been training with us. Very popular player at Norwich.
