  1. A fish rots from the head down
  2. 3 nil Taunton. Ross Stearn screamer. Must be a sobering night for Torquay fans.
  3. Yes, fair point. Though I expect partly due to Jon too. Looks like Warburton did the original restructure, then became manager, and then left due to philosophical differences over a new restructure that wouldn't have given the manager a veto over potential transfers. He still had a very successful time there taking Brentford from L1 to the cusp of the Prem. His communication skills and analysis are excellent imo.
  4. He didn't even have much of a pre-season with the players as he came in right at the end of the summer. Very impressive. Agree, put simply, someone like O'Neil would not be given the chance to be the best version of himself here because of the incompetent set-up. We're setting people up to fail, time and time again.
  5. As I posted a few weeks ago, every club in the Championship has a CEO apart from us, Sheff Wed (in ownership turmoil) and bottom-of-the-table Rotherham. My question to Steve and Jon would be, "what is it about the internal structure at City which makes it unique in not requiring a CEO?" Because that's the line they've taken. Apparently because we have Tinnion and Jon, we don't need a CEO. The internal structure is strong enough without one. I mean, WTF.... I feel embarrassed enough typing it out, christ knows how embarrassed they must feel.
  6. Comfortably six figures. Mark Ashton was on over £300k pa and whilst I doubt they're paying Tinnion that, it may not be a million miles off.
  7. Yes, and with that experience and nous, young and inexperienced members of the team can really flourish. Gary O'Neil had never taken charge of a football team until 2021 and not a first team until August 2022 - 18 months ago. He might be named Premier League manager of the season, and he did a pretty bloody good job at Bournemouth last season too.
  8. Finally playing at the highest level they ever have though. I think it's just not a football town, for whatever reason. Cricket obsessed and a lot of rugby too. There's a lot of City fans in Taunton too tbf. I went to the FA Vase final with Taunton in 1996 and we took about 7k to the old Wembley, so I agree there is some potential there if TTFC sustained themselves consistently at a good level. Realistically though, that's no higher than the National League unless a proper wealthy benefactor came along.
  9. The sad thing is that it simply will not happen so long as the Lansdowns are here. Whoever the manager/head coach is, they are set up to fail, because the Lansdowns will not cede control to anyone that knows more about football than they do.
  10. Whoever mentioned Mark Warburton yesterday, fair play, as he'd be a great shout to head up the footballing operation. He was responsible for Brentford's entire internal restructure 10 years ago, which appears to have done alright. 61 years old, out of work - what a shame it's pie in the sky to think the owners would employ anyone like him into that role.
  11. Sure they must all be buzzing on the coach journey up knowing that their potential progress into the first team is being delayed because we're going for glory in the youth cup, on the orders of footballer development experts Steve and Jon Lansdown. Fml.
  12. I have it on good authority that was in the dressing room in front of the Bears players too.
  13. Ah, balls. It wasn't a nightmare. He really said it.
  14. Tinnion then went on to say how great it was that the plan had clearly worked as the u-18s were in the semi finals. As if it's some sort of stroke of genius to screw your first team and development squads up at the expense of the u-18s. The hubris is excruciating.
  15. Just listened to the start again. "Steve and Jon decided they wanted a good run in the u-18 youth Cup this season" So, as a result, Brian explained: 1) It's part of the reason why we can't fill a full bench for the first team; and 2) U-18s are deliberately being held back from progressing into the u-21s so that we can do well in the youth Cup. So we are sabotaging the first team, u-21s and development of u-18s because on a whim Steve and Jon decided they wanted a good cup run for the u-18s? I think this is up there with one of the most absurd things I've ever heard come out of the club.
  16. "Where do you want to be in 12 months time?" "10 pts better off" Is that it? Is that the extent of the ambition? Jesus wept.
  17. His passing stats are unreal too. 2,309 completed passes at 85% pass accuracy. City's next best player for passing is Joe Williams 1,153 completed passes at 80%. More than double the number of completed passes compared to his closest teammate. Must be Premier League clubs taking a look.
  18. Pretty obvious Manning didn't want him but our Teknical dyrektor did. Back to the MA/LJ transfer bun-fight days. Joy.
  19. Can you confirm how many people have asked to come on the pod since you came on here and said anyone is welcome? A rough estimate is fine as I'm sure it's loads given the number that come on here and say how taking apart Ian's arguments would be as easy as kicking snow off a piece of rope. Like I say, I'm sure it's too many to count, but a rough estimate would be interesting.
  20. 2026 Slam winners, you heard it here first France were good second half. Amazed how many of them were there. Must've been 10k and created a great atmosphere
  21. Absolutely. But the idea a coach wants his side to deliver those kind of outcomes is clearly for the birds...
  22. Bollox. Good 60m but France too strong in the end. Amazing atmosphere with the roof on
  23. You think that's how Manning wants to play the game? Seriously? His MK and Oxford sides would suggest he prefers a different style.
