Any news from the QandA up there ?
Just got off the blower to someone there. Apparently Warnock enquired about the City job but we'd already approached SC.
Also Bristol Rugby are moving over for next season but DESsO pitch not in for 2 years. So next season could be interesting..

We don't have a great record at Valley Parade do we? I've only been once and we lost 4-1.
-
Us and Bradford the league's draw specialists so a score draw looks a good bet on paper. But lets go up there and get a big result.
2-1 City.
You reds!

Naturally and, equally, like virtually ALL managers before him.
Absolutely and I'm not sure who was predicting he'd fail straight away. Most acknowledged he'll have a good start as most managers at a new club tend to. It's what he does 3 months into the job, 6 months into the job, a year into the job etc that will define whether he's a successful manager here.
-
Neither have yours, you want SC to fail, he isn't, you can't take it
There's a big difference between thinking someone may fail vs wanting them to buddy.
This is just exactly the type of signing i hoped we wouldn't be making. Hoping the comments I found from the Posh fans are accurate ones and he's a hit here.
At 28 though I'd hope we think very carefully before offering him a long term deal even if he does do well.

God you're boring.
Deary me, someone's prayers haven't been answered lately.

Is Barnett a Cotterill signing or a Burt signing, or does it depend on how he does?
A 6ft 3 lump who's good in the air, not afraid to smash into anyone (ask Greg), was playing non league 4 years ago, is 28 years old and is on the transfer list for being involved in a night club fracas.
Burt or Cotterill? I think I know where my money is... This lad wouldve fit right into "the crazy gang" back in the day.

My worry is he is being lined up to replace jet. Hope there is no deal for a cash plus player deal after initial loan spell. I get the feeling Cottrell doesn't rate jet as much as sod! Hope I'm wrong!
Can't see JET going. If SC is going to play Baldock, JET and Barnett then I worry most for Bobby. Don't see where he fits in.

He's the **** that put Cunningham out for half of last season!

Genuine concern and great hope? What a load of horse shit.
You made your mind up the day he got the job and before you saw a single game. You aren't fooling anyone.
Of course I had concerns from day one. Like manyother City fans I was underwhelmed by his appt. What's the issue? Take a deep breath, other people are allowed to express different views to you.
-
Lets hope that you drop the anti Cotterill stance and actually go and watch a game without all of your prejudices against the bloke.
It's a genuine concern of mine that he will revert to a more "direct" ugly style of football when given the chance to sign players.
It is also a great hope of mine that he will not do the above.
Your hissy fit is just embarrassing.

Let's hope we are still playing similar football after SC has began to make his mark on the squad...
-
We are alot better with him then without him, without him there would be no acadmeny no training ground no referbished ashton gate
I would just like to convey, as a percentage, the certainty that you can make that statement with:
0%

Agree, have said before, Where are the protest groups? Where is the coordinated action? Where are the plans to oust the board. If that is people want, where is the action?
It's all bluster and hot air akin to mother's meeting, they want to do stuff and yet wont do anything about it, aside from air their views on message boards. Some have said they will stay away as their form of 'protest' however, it doesnt actually change anything and is slacktivism at it's finest
If people really want change that badly, then get organised and do something about it
Don't underestimate the power of this forum. Lansdown Jnr and Snr read it. Steve has clearly read a lot of the points made on here and it's upset him to the point that he admitted he'd considered walking away from the club.
People are protesting about the way the club is run everyday on this forum and for the time being that's probably just as effective as jumping around in a car park waving banners.
-
People are getting confused. It's not the chairman who is supposed to face up to fans/media, its the Chief Exec.
We need a quality Chief Exec. One may be on the way...

So disappointing to hear such a negative response regarding potentially having supporter representation on the board. It's clearly never going to happen under SL.
Crumbs of comfort regarding the academy, new training facilities and the AG redevelopment (which could be a catalyst) but the rest of it fills me with no confidence.
No love lost between the Lansdowns and SOD, neither Jon or Steve have had a good word to say about him since he left. They've clearly invested a lot of faith in Cotterill and talked him up...if this one fails, things are going to get ugly.

A wise old man told me a year ago that this is the most arrogant, cocky and complacent England side in years and from what I've seen in the past year I can't disagree too much. I thought 3-0 flattered us in the summer against a god awful Aussie side.
Swann tweeting pics from the dressing room yesterday of him and Michael McIntyre in the middle of a 5 day test v the Aussies?? Don't get it.
Stand by what I said above.
Need to rebuild now.

I'm sorry, but i cannot accept him being whiter than white (excuse the racial pun) like some of you on here. That's just an honest opinion of someone who thinks that killing innocent people by bombing public spaces and torturing people who say "no" by setting them on fire while tied within tyres does not deserve the praise he gets.
I don't think anyone is saying he is whiter than white and no one is saying kids deserved to die or that it was justified?? Studying history is about interpreting the facts and coming to a balanced conclusion. Education seems to have failed you if you can't recognise the seismic impact Mandela had on millions of lives in SA.
Maybe now you've given us the "Nelson Mandela: Tyrant" chapter of your thesis, you could give us your overall conclusion on the man??

Some weather around last 2 days apparently.
90% chance of rain tomorrow

Looks like even the Green Party are supporting this. There is now a letter of support from the Deputy leader for Bristol, Tess Green.
Well they of all people should be in support of the redevelopment of brownfield sites as opposed to greenfield.

I assume that away following could be reduced if we get a lot of new home fans? 5,500 seems an awful lot.
The boxes on the other hand - 18 seems ridiculously small. Why bother with just 18?
I went to game in a box at Carrow Road, they had loads of them, each ranging from 20 - 100 people. Easily 100 boxes.
If AG just went for 18, then I truly would think the club has finally lost the will to live.
I would hope the boxes are the first concern - if we can fit 200 in AG, build 200. International Rugby Union and League are a given after the redevelopment, and the club would be chasing all kinds of events surely.
18..no,no,no, that's crazy.
200 boxes?! Settle down.
We are proposing 37, my bad, and Norwich have 41 so not exactly a big difference.
Also I may have capacity of Atyeo wrong, someone else said it's only 4,200 and would leave in excess of 22,000 seats for home fans.
